What about an older audi or merc estate? (probably just get shot down here)

Aero

Two grand would get you a big six wagon with a three-point badge.

A minter of a W123 wagon would be my choice there. Seven seaters too...

Slight drop on choice rims (Cragars/AREs if the car is dark-coloured, Lorinsers if it's light) and you have instant win.

Older Prestige Estate is probably not going to be cheap to run or cheap to fuel although I like the idea in theory. If I got the XM it would need to be the 2.1TD as the 2.5TD is not going to be cheap in the real world to fuel. I know they CAN do 40mpg but I doubt I would get that most of the time. 406 Estate is on the cards but seem rare in the trim level I want. Especially for £2000.

£2000 budget and you're bidding on a Cat C?

why not? It's cat c because there is mild damage on two panels. Therefore uneconomical to repair. Why confusion and sadness? You don't have to live with it. Besides she might prang this in a couple of months.... HDI Exclusive estates are also ultra rare so if I can get this one cheap and spend a few quid doing it up then thats fine by me.

That's a good point, and admittedly I should have asked about damage.

Personally though I'd tell her to buy her own car. ;)

The cream leather in the exclusives looks lovely.

won at £888! Hope it's not too bad but thats one cheap common rail derv estate regardless. If it's grotty inside or something I can always shove it back on ebay.

Strangely, most people in relationships do consider the thoughts and feelings of the other person...

At the complete determent to themselves? Theres considering someones feelings and being whipped into submission by your other half, and judging the amount of threads that contain this kind of topic on both this and other forums, there are a hell of a lot of pathetic grown men around.

"I just sold my *decent car* because my princess darling of another half has demanded I buy her a conservatory for the house so now I need a new car, but its got to be cute bcause my darling princess also needs to sit in it occasionally, im looking at pegeout 107's are they any good?"

Amazing lifelong relationship understanding, from the 21 year old in the corner.

Mondeo Ghia X Estate. 2.0 petrol (manual).

Should be able to get a very very late Mk2 for your budget nowadays.

There is considering their feelings and pandering to their every need like a father who wont stop throwing cash at his darling daughter every time she wants to go to a party ;)

Relationships are about give and take, not submission and pandering to every whim. She is supposed to be your most special partner, not your master.

Well I'm not throwing very much cash;) 1/3 of £888 is £296.. Then she can also pay 2/3 of getting the car up to scratch by fitting decent tyres etc etc.

You are hardly likely to agree with him given the only thing you ask when your girlfriend says jump is 'how high' ;)
