Inter Milan v Liverpool + UEFA Cup Fixtures *Spoilers*

spurs game was like watching paint dry so i switched to everton match glad I did was a great game they utterly outplayed Fiorentina ah well the uefa cup is a losers competition anyway.
It's the european coca cola cup.

I KNEW he was going to miss the penalty, i knew it. I hate him, he's such a crap player. I remember him trying to chip a penalty before, i think it was with england. (im not a spurs fan btw)

i knew it as well they way he stepped up and stood at that angle it was so oblivious he was going to hit it with his right foot into the right hand side of goal

i don't blame chimbonda at all he was unlucky and sent the keeper the wrong way

some people on other forums are saying he missed on purpose cause he is leaving in the summer but i think its BS

Can't blame anyone for missing a penalty, when the game gets to that stage its a lottery.

Gotta give credit to anyone who has the guts to step up to take one!

In all honesty, Spurs lost the match a week ago by not scoring at home. Roll on next season when Ramos can get some players of berbatov's quality in to compliment him and get rid of some of the dross. He's on a different planet compared to half the Spurs squad.

Totally agree I've been saying this for a while. People keep moaning about his attitude - but he's a player capable of playing football at a higher level (i.e. a team which regularly plays in the Champions League) and so who wouldn't be fustrated at how cack the rest of [his] own current team are.

I reckon they might struggle to keep him this summer.

I can they are paid millions. Strikers at the very least should score, hit the target or at the least force the keeper in a truely world class save.

Worse still are the bottlers, paid millions and shirk the responsibilty to younger players. Like Ince did for england and Andy Johnson bottled it tonight.

Penalties isn't a lottery. It's about bottle and actually being able to hit the target from all of 11 metres.

Well I thought we were damned unlucky to go out. So thought that volley from Steeeed! was going in in the 120th minute... cracking save!

So cruel to be one penalty away from winning... ah well, roll on next season :)

Yeah, the penalties by English clubs where terrible, 2 of spurs only just beat the keeper and the rest where placed well and the rest missed.

Just no bottle when it comes down to it.

Agree, when i look around the Spurs team i'd say maybe one or two seem have the brain to stay with him, Robbie Keane been one of them. For sure Ramos will clear out a lot of dead wood this summer.

Johnson didn't bottle it, he wasn't on the pitch, he was subbed off for Gravesen at 118 minutes.

Correct. Shocking performance, they seemed to know exactly how to shut us down.

I don't think there'll be massive changes, we have still got a very skilful squad, that's got us to consecutive 5th places! Think there still needs to be some alignment to the Ramos thinking and a more defined idea of where things are going. We've no idea which players think are still playing for their places and who aren't at the moment. A more settled squad should help things. Gary Bale back on the left wing is much much much needed though.

I'd be getting rid of a lot of players, in fact, the only ones I would keep are:

Ledley King
Jonathan Woodgate
Gareth Bale
Alan Hutton
Jermaine Jenas
Steed Malbranque
Aaron Lennon
Tom Huddlestone
Jamie O'Hara
Dimitar Berbatov
Robbie Keane

First out the door would be Zokora, he's so unbelievably rubbish. Chimbonda, Robinson and Kaboul would follow fairly quickly.

I knew what the result would be when I went to sleep to avoid watching the pens :( I hate the whole shoot out system, well mainly because we're utter crap at it at almost any level.

I presume he meant he bottled it in game rather than the penalties. But I'm pretty sure AJ must have told Moyes before game he didn't want a pen anyway!

Thats what I meant, they took AJ off because he didn't fancy a penalty. No other reason why they would put graveson on and take Johnson off. He's a well paid striker, paid to put the ball in the net and he doesn't fancy his chances 1v1 with a keeper from 11 metres.

He's a disgrace, the other striker didnt look keen to be taking one either. Almost to lazy to even run up and strike the ball.

The most expensive players in the team neither had the bottle or skill to slot away from 11 metres.

That's how the Yak always takes his pens. Had a good conversion rate until recently as well.
