Well, except that I've lived on my own two feet for over ten years, bought the house long before any money came my way through the family and so on...

But never let the reality get in the way of having a cheap pop ;)

Don't worry about justifying yourself, fox still lives with his parents....

He's well aware of that hence his comments.

Go back to posting about your Dads car as if you own it.

The only reason you don't currently live at home is becuase you are away at Uni handing out leaflets for clu... sorry, running your own succesful marketing business.

Why can't she buy her own car if she's paying for it?!

I would never drive my boyf's car (well I can't at the moment - see other thread) but he is currently looking to replace his car and asked if I would drive the new one... yes I would, but would prefer to have my own that I wouldn't have my conscience bearing down on me if I kerbed it ;)

:/

We share cars because we own half of each one. Just the way we decided to do it as we've been living together for several years. Mate has picked the car up and it's fine apart from some daft electrical faults and needing a very good clean as far has he can tell. If I don't like it after I've tarted it up I will just sell it. Either way it's going to be a useful car that gets me out of a hole. Having cleaned it up and remedied the electrical faults I will decide whether to then look for a "mint" HDI exclusive or whether I am happy to spend money on this to get it exactly the way I want. Good news is that the leather is not torn and appears to be decent so if the old bus dies on me I could sell just the seats for £200.

I still reckon £880 for a taxed, tested, common rail derv estate that isn't a laguna of death is a pretty decent price regardless.

LOL! Yes, because everyone knows I own a Mercedes! Also belittling my achievements isn't very brave, does it make you feel better due to your own lack of achievements maybe?

The only reason I don't live at home is because I can and there are no plans of me moving back.....it's an important step to make fox and I hope you realise the benefits it can offer, before you make any more digs at people.

gurdas, do me a favour and **** off and read the thread before you see an opportunity to dig. Someone else brought the whole thing up FIRST. So naturally I responded.

I have read the thread and digested it and provided facts that explain why views will differ, it's a discussion forum after all.

Out of interest gurdas who has funded your Uni education and accomodation in its entirity?

My parents paid for part of my first year accommodation but my tuition fees for all 3 years and my rent for my second and third year are funded by me. So....no i'm not able to live out because my parents support me.

Thats a lot of money in London and this is the point at which you stop coming into threads to try and claim moral highground. Lets go back to discussing cars and which car he should buy :)

Really is it? It's an amount i've been able to pay off with a months work, so I am fully able to justify my living away from home and continue to support myself, I am fully independent so I can offer my opinion on these grounds.

It's a discussion forum that has rules not governed by you fox. Lets just await pics and details of this xantia:)

Didn't you know, young people with no life experience or time spent standing on their own two feet provide the most useful and relevant advice...

Thats a nice big assumption you have made there. You don't happen to be 21 with no life experience or time spent standing on their own two feet do you?

This is a thread about girlfriends and cars. Does your girlfriend drive?

I dont honestly see what relevance your post had beyond a 'I'm better than you' implication. But that was always the gurdas way ;)

Yes she does drive.

Also my post was very relevant to the discussion of decision making between couples. Living with your bird brings a whole new set of considerations that need to take place, which you evidently don't understand, living at home...

edit: also I don't need to imply that, I thought it was just a given fact?:p
