Hi.

Well it has been nearly a year since I played it, and it was one of the most fun games I played, especially when going raiding :D, but I could not afford it in the end, so had to cancel it and was not happy about it :(. Fortunatly now I think I can pay for it and with me looking around for jobs the chances of me been able to pay it in the long term are higher.

Anyway, I'm just wondering, over the past year has it really changed much? And is there a lot of you out there on this forum that play this game still?

Also is it worth getting some of the expansion packs too?

I seem to have a problem too, I tried logging in today and it seems my everquest 2 account has been deleted, I guess this is due to me canceling it and not using it for about a year? EQ2 was bought with this account too, it still all shows in the payment history, do I need to re buy EQ2 or if I start a subscription with the E2 client instaled should it be fine?

One last question. If I start a free trial, will I be able to use the exact same account when I start paying for it?

Thanks.

They dont cancel inactive acounts, no idea why its gone. As for the game I think it was very good and had massive depth, if you played it 24/7 you would still only scratch the surface, even more so with the expansion packs.

Problem was I left wow because I was sick of having to play it 24/7 EQ2 was the same, a better game imo but I didnt want to sit at the pc playing EQ2 30 hours a week.

When I played it I only played it now and again and still found it interesting and not falling behind, It seemed everyone was going away to the EOF expansion pack though :\.

Theres another one since then. Not played it though. The EOF exp was very good.

The latest exp has ALL the expansion packs in there.

Hmmm, which one should I buy?

On subscription it shows 1 month£9.49* every month and at bottom
* Plus Applicable Taxes, so its £9.49 not INC VAT?

You want the Rise of Kunark expansion if you are going to buy anything as it will give you everything up to now.

My latest bill shows £9.49 as the final amount.

As for why your account is not showing, very weird. Are you positive you are using the correct login details? They gave a lot of accounts free time some time back so you may even be able to log in without doing anything more than re-installing the game at present. If you are sure you have the details correct then contact SoE about it and see what they say.

I've contacted them, but I'm going to have to wait for ages for them to reply, I can go into my account info and click subscribe on the same one I guess that re activates it. I think I'll go with the 6 monthly payment as it knocked almost a tenner off which is good.

So I'll do this now.

All I need now is to know if anyone on the forum is willing to meet up in game?

I need a trial really, I've just remembered, huge problems with 8800GT, lots of people having problems.

I still got my char :D, seems fine fingers crossed no gameplay problems :D.

More than happy to meet in game, but it will depend on what server you are on :)

My main is called Nuladen on Lucan D'Lere.

My 8800GTS has never had any major issues with the game at all, a few minor ones for sure but I couldn't say for certain that they are not for everybody and not just 8800 series cards.

When I had a 3700+ SD, 1gb ram and 8800GTS 640 all on high 1440x900 it was like a slide show.

I sure hope to 75 quid was worth it!!

Lack of memory would have been your biggest issue then I'd wager, plus don't expect to turn everything up to maximum settings and have it run well, it won't.

Why wont it? Is it the crappy optimized engine everyone goes on about?

What settings should I use?

It's not so much badly optimised as much as it was designed for CPU's that never came, when it was built the likes of Intel were promising 8Ghz cpu's and beyond which never appeared and the game engine is heavily cpu dependant, something that needs to change and given the response recently would not suprise me if it does at some point. Sadly at the moment things that should be rendered by the graphics card (shadows being a good example) are not and as such drag performance down if you enable then.

You should have no issues setting your system to High or Very High quality and adjusting from there, F11 now brings up an in game status meter with a FPS monitor so you can see exactly how settings affect your FPS.

Ok, thanks, well I'll just lower the settings abit then.

Lastly, do you think it is worth 49quid every 6 months and 25 quid for all expansions and everything? its been took out of my bank allready.

It's value is a purely personal opinion to be honest.

Well if I ever leaved EQ2 again for a long time I wont need to re buy what I've bought will I?

Also is it possible to change servers? I'm currently in Antonia Bayle.

No you wont have to buy it again, however it has become EQ2's usual proceedure to include previous expansions in the latest release which some people see as having to buy them again.

Changing servers can be done, but it's costs something like $40 or $50, they do occasionally offer free server transfers though. What level is your main?

In which case it's probably just as easy to start another character on a Lucan D'Lere if you want to meet up :)

Yup, level 34 guild called the Qeynos Irregulars, I'll be more than happy to come and mentor you to help the levelling process and you'll be as welcome to join the guild too.
