Which would you have?

The reason I have put diesels on the list is because some are better than the petrol engines performance wise e.g. the A5 diesel does 0-60 in 5.9 but the petrol takes 6.1 and has less torque.

You need to try the A5 becuase several testers have been unable to acheive Audi's figures.

Becuase lets face it, irrespective of the high torque 0-60 in 5.9 seconds for a heavy 230bhp Coupe is interesting..

evo hands down. not a fan of bm's or audi's, they just don't strike me as a drivers car. though a moded 350 with crazy power would be pretty darn good

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 236
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1610
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 148.94

Seems a bit fishy to me as well.

It does have 369 lb/ft of torque though

True, however my car would be hard pressed to do a 0-60 in 5.9secs,
even with 4wd and 60 in 2nd. So I find it hard to believe.

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 294
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1410
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 211.86

lol - if you dont agree with Fox he bitches that you can't have an opinion because you dont drive a BMW or an Enzo etc. Kinda tiring.

Out of that list I would go with the A5 as a guy at work has a new one and it looks / sounds amazing. Although its usually parked next to a Lambo and a GT3, so people often overlook it :p

It's not that all, it's just odd when people make statements which are directly contradictory to general concencous. BMW, say what you will about them, are pretty much accepted to make the 'drivers cars' of the market they target. Disputing that becuase you dont like them would be like me saying that Saxo's don't handle - I hate Saxo's, but I'd not make a comment so plainly wrong out of prejudice thats all :)

I also dislike Toyotas, but you'll never see me say, for example, that they are unreliable, becuase it just isnt true.

As for the car the person drives - I just find it really interesting that the level of scorn poured on expensive metal appears inversely proportional to the car driven. You just don't see people in properly nice cars making uninformed comments about things they happen to dislike. And before you play the snob card, I'm not including myself in the 'properly nice cars' bracket as I drive a car that cost less than a new Corsa.

It's like the whole Boxster thing - post 'What do you think of Boxsters' on any forum on the net and 10 people who drive Fiestas will tell you they are crap and poor mans 911's, whereas 911 drivers, people with SL's, etc etc will tell you they are decent enough roadsters but not to their taste... you have to wonder why?

There are some properly rich people on this forum with car collections I envy and order forms I doubt the rest of us will ever see the like of. Oddly they are never the ones making the bizarre comments. This can't be a co-incidence.. can it?

I think I will give the diesels a miss, I only considered them because I thought some of them were quicker than the petrol eqalivents and have never really liked them. I only go to work four days a week and that only one mile down the road so fuel economy is not a problem only put eight thousand miles on my current car in three years.

I think maybe a diesel will be worth a bit more than a petrol in three years time when I come to sell but I am not going to let that sway my decision.

Purely out of interest, why? Styling? Interior quality (lack of)?

They just don't really do anything that interests me - mostly the whole quality thing. I admire the Supra for example but would never buy one.

But despite this I'm able to recognise that there isn't actually anything fundamentally wrong with a Toyota, which is why you wont find me in 'spec me a Yaris' threads shouting 'LOL TOYOTA SUCKS'.

Opinions are great, but opinions formed based on prejudice are worthless and annoying. And I am well aware I'm often guilty of this - doesn't make it right, though :)

With BMW for example you might think the styling is dull, you might think everyone who drives one is a tool and you might think the clinical quality of the interior sends you to sleep. Which is entirely fine. But to say they don't really strike you as drivers cars.. huh? Thats the USP BMW have used for decades, its why on many models the entire centre console is angled towards the driver, etc etc.

It just smacks of a 'I hate those, so there' opinion rather than one based on anything more substantial.

Like I said, I'm sometimes guilty of the same thing. And when I am, I'd hope somebody picks me up on it, becuase challenging opinions makes for interesting threads.

With nigh on 300bhp and 4WD you think you would be hard pressed to do a 0-60 in the 5 sec range ??

350z for me. Far more interesting and unique, pluse with the change you could make it even more fun

Whilst the BMW is pretty cool it just doesn't do enough for me. The Evo would be a bit too lary and a bit too much of a focus of attention.
