What are you reading at the moment?

You sir have excellent taste.

Read QED a few years ago, actually sat in the draw of my desk at work and I go back and reread bits of it now and again.

If you like QED and the way it is written, give Schrodinger's Kittens (by John Gribbin) a read, you'll enjoy it :)

I've read all of Iain M. Bank's books (appart from the new book Matter which I havn't got round to yet).

I didn't actually get round to finishing QED or Chaos :o

They're both a bit casual and not that mathematical in their explanations of things (which is to be expected I suppose), which I didn't like. I've actually since started a degree in theoretical physics and applied maths, so bits of QED and chaos have been covered already on my course, and in much greater detail than in the books :)

I've now finished The Algebraist and read Consider Phlebas and Use of Weapons too (this was my favourite). Excession is up next.

I'm currently reading...Jordan by Katie Price. :p

Joke! On a serious note though, I've not read any books in a while. I usually stick to business biographies but I've not seen any in the shops that have caught my eye recently.

I've had my eye on:
Top-man Philip Green
Abramovich: The Billionaire from Nowhere - Still unsure about this one, due to the reviews saying it's mostly about him and Chelsea FC. I have no interest in football.
To The Edge: Entrepreneurial Secrets from Britain's Richest Square Mile - Unsure about this one because it has completely no reviews yet.

Bit tight for cash at the moment so I can't go splashing my cash on books. If anyone could recommend one of the above or even a good business bio worth reading, that would be great!

Sad I know, but I mainly read mathematics books. Lately I've been flicking through:

Geometry of Classical Fields
Gauge Theory and Variational Principles
Introduction of Bosonic String Theory (vol 1)

The last of these is a semi-effort on my part. I'm not a string theorist, but a friend of mine is so I feel morally obliged to learn about it. My other half is constantly telling me that my reading habits are unhealthy, and I'll admit that they cause me problems sleeping. In light of this, perhaps someone could give me a recommendation to turn my reading habits around? I like thriller/horror films, and have enjoyed audio books by Tom Clancy - any obvious choices? Nothing too heavy because my attention span has never been great.

:)

w11tho, Steven King books might suit you, pretty weighty in terms of pages but a very easy read generally.

The Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum by Robert Ludlum are supposed to be pretty good as well although I've not read them myself yet.

James Herberts latest. The Secret of Crickley Hall.

All about faeries though.

Supposed to be a horror writer. :(

In the middle of reading it. I think its very good. Kids being drowned, beaten, abducted? Isnt horror enough?

I think you're living up to your user name on this one. :p

Reading all of the Rebus series by Rankin in order as I read a couple of them out of order some years ago, so I thought that I would go back to them.

Also just re-read Hitchikers Guide, finished Two Caravans (Marina-Lewycka), Skin Tight (Carl Hiaason) and Marley and Me (John Grogan)

Going to have a look as some of the suggestions here after Rankin
