Nokia N95 8GB..help! :D

if you do a Google and a bit patient you can easily sign everything yourself. I think there's even a stronger hint on a thread in this forum if you do a search:o
Are you sure? Offline Signing was stopped for those without PublisherIDs about 2 weeks ago.

So much info about signing things (because it was such a pita) out there, but none of it works as it all points back to symbiansigned :)

We're firmly in their hands as what to do, unless someone fancies buying an ID? :p

:( just called O2 and checked Royal Mail, RM says the Orbit II was delivered this morning, I called O2 who say it still isn't showing up as returned and could take 5 days to show up, which means I won't have the N95 till possibly Thursday/Friday of next week! :(

I've just managed to get another one ;)
No idea why - maybe because you registered before the PublisherID restriction. In MySymbianSigned, on clicking Request DevCert, you get the message:

Your request has failed. Reason:
-Developer Certificates will be ENABLED for users who have a Publisher ID ONLY
-ONLY if you used a Publisher ID to create a .csr file with the DevCertCreate tool will you be able to use Open Signed Offline to create a Developer Certificate.
-Developer Certificates are currently DISABLED for users without a Publisher ID. Users who DO NOT have a Publisher ID CANNOT request Developer Certificates or use Open Signed Offline.
-If you have recently obtained a Publisher ID and are unable to create a Developer Certificate using Open Signed Offline please request support through the Symbian Signed forum on the Symbian Developer Network here

And all blogs & the SymbianSigned forum say that it ain't possible anymore.

Just to let you I know I got my N95 from the local O2 shop for free on a £35 tarriff, they wanted £100, bit of haggling and they gave it me free, bargain.

1 week with is so far and I love it, best phone I had.

Just got mine today, and liking it so far :) Very smooth to use and having a blast, need to get it connected up to the PC and some extra apps put onto it very soon!

The one thing i'm unsure of, when I trialed one in a shop, it had a small toolbar at the top (under the clock) with "Write SMS" "Phonebook" etc.. just small icons, I wasn't sure how to enable this?

Cheers :)

Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode > Active standby change to on.

You can than change the icons in the "Active Standby apps." menu on the same screen.

Tools > settings > genral > personalisation > standby mode.

In there you decide what 7 apps have a shortcut along the top of the screen and which 2 sit at the bottom of the screen

EDIT: got beaten by foyman

No probs. I'd say my only problem with the new phone is the simple fact that it does so damn much it takes some time to find everything and configure it! And that's unavoidable.
Once that's done it's an astonishing piece of electronics

hmm, so, I just got Garmin Mobile XT from

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3651

Which i'm assuming/hoping is ok to link as it looks like a fully legal/ok to use site/program?

but it just keeps searching for internal GPS via bluetooth? From what I read, this should work with the N95 8GB? :( :D

route66 is my preferred , i'll take your word you got it legit means , but it searching for GPS it a common problem with lot less legit ways if you understand my meaning

I see, well that link i plonked up there was where I got it from, on Garmin.com so i'm sure it'd be pretty legal, Nokia maps is driving me spare and i'm not willing to pay a monthly peemium for a satnav voice! :(
