Bad designs on cars

Does the E38 not tell you the oil level? Dip stick in the s's is for use only if the computer is reporting a weird reading or the sensor is broken or something :confused:

Mine did not mate, perhaps as it was the poverty spec 728i ?
 
Ford headlight stalk.

On most cars, you push the stalk forwards to lock on main beam, bring it bank central to turn off main beam. Pulling the stalk toward you will flash the main beam and then return normally by a spring.

On my Focus, both actions are done by pulling it toward you. So you pull it halfway for flash and it springs back, or all the way to lock full beam on. Unfortunately, it requires only very gentle pressure. The amount of times Ive gone to flash an oncoming driver only to lock the full beam on, blinding them...its about the only thing I don't like about my car :o

Yes! Same with my Focus and i've done that many times too :) Also have you mistakenly flashed people whilst indicating?

hmm i thought it was just me... my 03 fiesta i had the problem with full beam getting stuck on, but never flashed people while indicating.

however since getting a 07 fiestaST i keep flashing people while indicating.... thankfully the full beam stuck on seems to be "fixed". :p
 
Happens maybe 1 in 500 times and usually if i realise i'm late for a turn and hurriedly hit the stalk to indicate, all in the angle, i've had people slow down in front of me, cut me off cause they thought i flashed them etc... :o
 
The lever to open the bonnet on the 307 I'm driving at the moment. It's hidden on the passenger side, behind a little lump in the wall of the footwell, and it's a tiny unmarked black lever. Took me ages to find...
 
The distributor (and therefore the points) are very tricky to get to on a non servo equipped Mk1 Fiesta.
