:(Just had a Hdd fail on me:(
nearly 500gig of assorted pv,music and Anime down the drain
Worst thing is although i backup most of my stuff i can`t remember exactly what was on this hdd
Was a Seagate Barracuda 500GB sata for a warning to everyone
it is under warranty but it took years of collecting demos and am gutted,failed with no warning either

Ouch, the majority of my Anime stuff on disk are rips of DVDs I own to make things easier with the HTPC but it would still be a pain to lose it all. /wanders off to make sure my Anime wallpaper folder is backed up as I'm pretty certain it isn't at the moment ...

It has both good and bad points
1 I have lost hundreds of gigs of anime and related stuff BAD
2 I can`t remember all that was on there:o GOOD (i suppose)

I know sometime i am gonna think, i know i will watch such and such ,look for it and i won`t be able to find it,cos it will be gone:(

Did a quick count of what i have to backup this afternoon... it went into the high hundreds of gigs
man my burners gonna catch fire this holiday:D

I sure am glad that my DVD collection won't spontaneously stop working. ;)
 
Well obviously i do have the DVD`s to reload to the replacement hdd(most of them anyway;))
But it is such a time consuming process to rip them ,especially box sets
Only last week i ripped the Azumanga Daioh box set i got
gonna have to do that and the others again, god and stellvia too,that is 8 dvds:(
 
Been watching Neon Genesis Eva. You can tell its rather old from the gfx but i like it, its rather nice mecha anime series im not too far in it yet but it has a certain something to keep me watching probably the "whats the next angle" lol but i also like seeing how the characters are developing which are interesting.

Also i have a question that i would like answered. I noticed ADV i think it was advertising a new Guyver series or film i duno, but i have all the old bioboost series 1-26 i think and was wondering if this guyver thats been advertised is a whole new series of guyver or just a re-release. If its not a re-release then is it any good compared to the old series? I always liked guyver and wish they made more or some OVA's which they may have done i dont recall tho. And a anime film version instead of live action as the two that are out are not really that good althought the biosuit is well done but the monsters were a bit crappy as in cheap costumes where i think the budget went on the guyver suit and the end fights in both films.

There are 2 Guyvers.

The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor is a 12 part OVA that was only released on DVD by Manga in the US and is OOP.

Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor is the 26 part TV series that was released by ADV, so I assume it's that they are advertising. It's currently being released in the UK but has been fully released in the US.
 
I think i have the OVA series then the main noticably thing in it i can remember is that one of the episodes had this massive white fur creature that killed guyver kinda if i remember right but came back and kicked its butt.

So is the tv series much different or is it the same story just extended but has the same events in?

My last Anime order that I absolutely couldn't cancel under pain of death and I could just about afford turned up from TRSI this morning (I was starting to worry it had gone missing).

MMMmmmm... Chobits, good series :)

I've been watching Suzuka today having picked up the last disk (R1) earlier this week .... finding it a bit irritating really. I have been getting the manga as its released here and find it really good but the anime is pretty poor in its animation quality ... it's nowhere near as good as, say, Kanon or GitS. The characters also look a lot better in the manga than the anime. :(

I've also been watching Ninja Nonsense .... boy that's silly, (but fun!) :D

Manga wise, got Ichigeke Sacchu HOIHOI San, which is quite good and involves a tiny cute android which kills bugs ... very good quality book too.
Also picked up the Mysterious Cities of Gold boxset today as well :)

EDIT: Just opened the TRSI box and OMGZ!! I so did not realise you got an Anderson relief figure with the vol 3 LE, I just thought it was a tin. It looks awesome :D

Appleseed: Ex Machina is a nice steelbook as well. I like steelbooks, I should really get the GitS: SSS R1 steelbook as the R2 is no longer available.

Well I watched Appleseed: Ex Machina this afternoon. Really nice visuals, a bit more computery than GitS but just as fancy. Pretty good story as well and plenty of action. Definitely a worthy sequel to the first film. I really need to get hold of the manga someday and see how that compares.

Also watched volume 3 of Hellsing Ultimate. Absolutely awesome, I really hope this gets picked up again and the rest of the manga animated. The dub makes this more than it would be as the voice actors are perfect for their characters, especially Seras :D Looking forward to Volume 9 of the manga whenever it's released.

Doubt I can do a review in the near future, (was a bit of an impulse purchase and I'm not going to have time to watch it before going away), but here's some pics ...



You get the six disks, a nice booklet, six postcards and sheet which is a poster on one side and a map on the other.

I have been watching Neon Genesis Evangelion and i love it. Im about up to 20th episode and thought it was awsome. IM afraid after i reach the end of the show there isnt more series or films. So im wondering if anyone knows of any new NGE stuff i can try to get i.e a season 2 or a film that continues the plot or somit or just keeps the characters going.

End of Evangelion is a film that tells an alternate version of the final episode.

Personally I would recommend not watching the last episode of the series and watching EoE instead as it will only ruin the entire show if you do watch it.

I disagree. I personally loved the last 2 episodes of the series, I didn't think it ruined it at all. I watched EoE afterwards also.
