Yeah, my preference is for them to be left in a cold, dark prison cell for the rest of their natural life with only their own thoughts (and hopefuly guilt) to keep them company.

I also wouldn't object to them fending for themselves in the general prison population though.

Either way, I don't think it's society's right to decide who lives and who dies. The death penalty is also far too lengthy and expensive for me to justify when it comes to scum bags like these.

Hmmm didnt this sort of thing happen to a guy up in Scotland who sexually abused a 5mth old girl??. From what i recall the judge gave him a pretty lenient senteance which was then increased.

I wonder what will happen in this case??, seeing as its the American judicial system...personally i hope hes put away for a very long time where he can be sexually abused by other prisoners till he takes his own life.

You'd die quicker from a lack of sleep than a lack of food, assuming that water is provided in both cases. In fact I think without sleep you'd be (un)lucky to survive the first 7 of your torture while without food you could probably go for closer to a month - albeit uncomfortably.

What this "thing" ( I cannot bring myself to call it a "person" ) needs, is the death penalty.

There will always be arguments for and against the death penalty, the debate does not end simply because you say so. Why treat him to a very lengthy and expensive appeals process when you could just lock him away forever for less? The only reason I can think of is some barbaric vengeance thing, why not "stone" him?

I agree that rehabilitation is probably a waste on this guy, but prison? I don't agree with that at all. Moral argument aside, I keep saying it takes more money/effort to execute somebody than throw them in jail for the rest of their natural life.
