If you had to pick a car that you had to have as your only drive for the rest of your life, what would it be? You have 10 seconds to choose, so it has to be a gut feeling.

I'd pick a 535d touring, because it's practical, and not exactly slow, with fair (ish) fuel economy.

*yes, this has been shamelessly stolen from last month's TopGear. (the writer there chose an RS6 Avant plus)

to quote the article; "you can't have an impractical exotic and hang the consequences, because children, wives and dogs are not legally allowed to be carried in a strap-on-top-box."

Williams.

The driving position is awkard, its a bit too small for me, its getting tempermental in its old age, it's high maintenance. But nothing puts as big a smile on my face as that when I take it out.

McLaren F1.

Enough seats for a wife and child should they ever appear, enough fun for a lifetime of never getting bored.

New dodge charger or new mustang

More than enough space for everything including the kitchen sink. Endless modding capability. With those mods come awesome power and handling.

Youd want to pay Veyron (assuming you mean Veyron) running costs for the rest of your life?

Yes Veyron, I didn't read the bit about exotica!

I think the £1million on actually buying the car would be more of a concern than the running costs.

I just thought this was meant to be a bit of fun

e38 750i L / Alpina B12 6.0

All the car I could ever want, and everything good that my 728i had, plus, more speed! :D

(How did I resist the ///M temptation ? ) - More time needed I suppose. :o

didn't read that bit....

i guess in that case it would have to something more mundane....

assuming i wouldn't have to buy it, just maintain it then i guess it would have to be a TVR.

When I read the thread title the first thought I had was a top of the range 5 series BM.
