Dawn of War 2

I'd like to see some battles taken off plain skirmish maps and placed in Space Hulks, rather than the normal resouce gather methods and buildings you have to fight for control of 'entry points' that allow you to reinforce your army. That would be tactically fun and challenging (Particularly if it's a Hulk controlled by Tyranids :D)

That would be awesome :)

Dawn of war would be great if it was anything like the battle engine in the total war series.

Using cover, line of sight, morale, making proper use of terrain, setting the force up in the first place.

Would be the best RTS ever if they could move it more in line with the total war series as opposed to C&C.

On a side note, resource gathering sucks.

More like ground control one in the way you take your units in to battle.

If i have 500 marines 50 predators and god knows how many other assorted units at my disposal for battle, I'm not going to send 10 marines down to mess around building a base to face off 200 odd orks, Ill send what ever will fit on the drop ships thank you very much.

My ideal warhammer game would be a mix of Company of heroes, faces of war , dawn of war and space hulk.

Company of heroes for the destruction and tactical gameplay made fun.

Face of war for the destruction and also damage system with vehicles/dreadnoughts/terminators. (Imagine having a group of space hulk terminators, one has a damaged weapon and is left to fight melee, others have to pull one more back to safety as it has lost a leg)

Dawn of war was a good game, but needs to be zoomed out slightly and slowed down.

Space hulk just because of the tyranids and close combat gameplay controlling a small number of your troops versus LOADS more.

Hell yes, I am really hoping for some more large scale combat situations here more on par with the total war games, but this is going to have to face off with Starcraft 2 which will be interesting.

DoW2 would be cool......but only if:
1. You could have more than 50 units in your army.
2. You could zoom out more so it didnt look as if you were looking at the game through a magnifying glass.
3. Bigger maps.
4. Dual monitor support.
5. Less of the absolutely terrible voice clips for every ******* action that I make that "requires" one of my units to make a fool of their armies.
6. More visual detail on the units.. I WANT POLYGONS!!!!!!!

this is mostly why i can't like the game. The small army, incredibly close view and really, the ridiculous scaling in the game. units are way to big, you can fit about 4 men on the screen at any one time. It also feels to fast, the combat's kinda dull as its to fast, I don't feel that sense of huge epic battles, its all small encounters that are over in seconds even if its multiple Hero style characters fighting each other.

500 marines is half a chapter... very few battles need that kind of firepower... space marines are supposed to be the elite.. for that kind of large scale battle u use the imperial guard with maybe a company (100) space marines taking vital strategic points

Besides, Warhammer : Chaos March did the big army thing and it wasn't nearly as much fun as DoW. As Jammy said, Space marines are all about small numbers against huge odds. I loved attaching a hero unit to a beefed up squad in DoW and watching them just wade through orcs, great fun.

They didnt really do it very well in Mark of Chaos though. The gameplay was a bit....well....crappy.
