Ps3 Owners Rejoice GT5P IS Released - The FM2 Curious Thread

I looked on PS store and found no demo for this :'( Till then I'm not going to buy it.

It's there, or it was... in fact its on the US PSN store still. Go to the last tab, View all, browse by G, Page 2. Gran Turismo HD Concept. It's about 630MB or so.
It has 16 cars and 1 track.

To be honest GT HD feels nothing like Prologue. Felt like I was driving fast sledges into corners on GT HD.

This is the demo :P

GT HD is the demo :P

I been playing this all afternoon at my mates place and its the same as the first one on the PS1 with nicer graphics.

The handling is garbage, its an arcade game and a bad one at that.

Forza 1 on the xbox was better than this, Forza 2 totally kills it.

More hype from sony.

handling is garbage? you must be doing something wrong or have no experience driving a car. why is everyone slating the physics? the physics are brill, thats the reason i bought a ps3, for the physics of gt5p.

the cars feel great in sim mode everything off. also you forza supporters have got me interested in forza 2. many of you are saying the physics are better than gt5p. im quite interested to try forza 2 now. should i buy one, actually i'll check out some reviews now because all this time i thought forza wasnt a sim type racing game.

Id like to see some in game pics please lads.

I have Forza 2 and the wheel, and im happy with it, i like the way it handles, you can tweak the cars and they feel different with all the mods.

But looking at the GFX GT5 looks stunning, and especially as i need a BR player, it looks as if the PS3 is getting higher on the must buy list.

I reckon the proper GT5 will be the last decent sim/arcade racer on current gen consoles?

True (not that I realised at the time when playing it), but my point was there not going to release a prologue demo as its already a cut down version of a full game.

I'm not bating any one Mr Latte, I stand by all my opinions on prologue. I have all the consoles, all the driving games, hd tv's, projectors, wheels and all the rubbish just like yourself. I've played them all intensively and when I see cross textured trees in a supposedly stunning game it kind of kills the atmosphere in initial impressions.

I like GT5, I think its good fun, it can at times feel a little soul less and lonely but I think that was a conscious choice. Id love to see the jaggies go, and I am in the camp that thinks forza probably is a better simulation of real driving. It seems sometimes people mistake difficulty for realism. Still I prefer a more arcady approach and its simple menu sytem is a definite plus. Its a must have PS3 game right now and I look forward to the real release. I find at the moment its sitting perfectly between Forza and PGR. Beating them hopefully in the long run with sheer size and car choice.

fixed ;) :p

I thought I'd add I got to play this for about 30 minutes this afternoon, After which the pad was snatched from me. I guess it's only fair considering it's not my console.

But from what I played, I loved it. Loved every minute of it, And it's definately going to be a purchase for me in the future.

So you need a US PSN account? I don't think I'll bother setting one up if so.

I haven't played the Euro version. Just the jap one. It's pointless arguing which is the better looking as that is obvious. (Forza is getting on for it's first birthday) The driving physics are better in Forza as is the tuning. Also the prologue can not touch Forza 2 atm for online. Especially if you can get into a team and run tournaments with your friends.

Both games pale in comparison to some PC simulators. Im a great fan of Rfactor for example but i tend to play Forza 2 more because it's a lot easier to pick up and play after coming home from work. While still retaining a decent level of simulation compared to the PC sims.

I really do hope they stop tweaking the graphics and put their resources into the physics engine and the way that effects tuning. If they can get that right. Im sold on a PS3 and GT5 when it is released.

Im curious

Who here has both PS3/X360 and both with wheel configurations, particulary the G25 and X360 wheel.

Also is their any FM2 fans on these forums that play the game in triple monitor setup (considering the price of X360 NOW its doable)

Forza 2 is as close to a sim as I have ever played on a console, it totally destroys the GT series as far as phsyics go IMO. Forza 2 has a physics engine running at 300 'samples' per second, real time telemetery, quite a complex tyre physics model, and bodywork mods effect downforce etc. It also has a damage model.

The damage model is a joke, more of a cosmetic thing, you cant drive into a wall at such high speeds and a car still to be drivable. Gameplay elements are balanced with its so called damage. It should be damgae on and realistic damage, i found the damage to be very underwhelming.

Will you please post up the screens regards FM2 and whats available to be tuned, im curious and tbh cant even remember....

Still downloading. I rather have it on the console's hard drive, one of my habits from my PC days. It sits there on the drive, no disc swapping or anything; head to the menu and click and play.

Bit strange that I had to pay 4 more quid than usual for a version that doesn't need physical media or publishing middlemen, or anything... (all the shops I looked were out of stock already!)
