My PSP + PS3 Integration Experience (Remote Play)

I got internet connection to work at home last night, but it wont work at my business even though i get inernet access ok, have the browser disabled at start up and the PS3 to start via RP, like you now it keeps timing out?

Anyone???

Have you forwarded TCP port 9293 from your router to your PS3s LAN IP address? (I know V1N has but it was not clear whether you had from your post). (I am assuming you are getting the message that says trying to connect for 90secs and then it fails).

The remote internet connections which you are using... are they free wi-fi hotspots or access points at your work? It could be their locked down so that devices can't transmit to the internet on ports other than HTTP which would explain why remote start doesnt work but web browsing does. Just a thought.

I've had it working with only 9293 TCP forwarded to the PS3, but this was using a friend's wi-fi so the PSP had unrestricted access to the internet.

Its an open wireless network now WEP etc
I set the connections also to MODE 4 but it seems interent connection isnt turning on the PS3.

Is your port 9293 forwarded on your home router though? (V1N's problem is he can connect if PS3 over the internet if it is on, but he cannot Wake on Lan it over the Internet). Implying his ports are correct.

Is it actually a WOL packet? As some routers block them from the WAN side of the router.

this is doing my head in now.
Works fine at home no problem.
But from work's wifi network it just times out.
Watching my router's log from work i can see it rejecting stuff even though the rules are right which annoying. Will try again when im back in on thursday or friday. Think the firewall on the router is the problem.
Annoyingly uPNP wont work. Even with uPNP turned on, on the router and PS3 it dont seem to work.
Saying that i got home from work today and the PS3 was on even though i turned it off before i left for work, so something seemed to have worked.
Router is a Zyxel P661HW-D1 btw.

I am 99% certain it is a WOL packet, although I am baffled as to how the PSP knows what IP to send it to as the PS3 only knows your LANside IP address (maybe it does some intelligent routing using the device MAC addresses which it must learn when you pair the ps3 & psp.

To make things easier I have tested this on a Netgear DG834GT and a Netgear DG834G and a BeBox (forget model number but ut is the one Be give as standard).

As you said, it's probably MAC.
