Somone owes me money but does not have paypal. He suggested paying through debit. How could this be done?

Thanks.

He needs to get internet banking set up, go to HIS account page and pay it into yours with those numbers above.

Sort code and account number and your name are needed.

Every time I read anything about bank details all I can think about and hear in my head is the voice of:

Well unless you're Jeremy Clarkson, it's unlikely anything bad will happen as nobody can steal your monies directly :p

What happened with Clarky was that the clever bloke used the bank details to donate money to charity :p

He could also walk into a bank (the one you have your account with, barclays for example) with your acct number name and sort code, and just ask to put xx pounds into your account.

They will do it instantly, none of this waiting three days for funds to clear like bank to bank internet banking.

By the way, you have 48 thousand ugandan dollars waiting for you..

I have to do this myself. Do they or i have to set something up online or can i just go ahead and send the money
Send the money to my account to see if it works... I'll send it on... honest. :D

Depending on whom you bank with, it's easy to send; account number, name of account holder and sort code is all you need.

I've never even needed the account name when setting up an online bank transfer from my bank although perhaps it differs from bank to bank.

stumpy187, if you aren't already set up for online banking then you (rather obviously) would need to arrange that first, if you just want to do it as a one off then simply pop into your local branch and they should be able to arrange it. The other option is to go into a branch of the bank that you are sending the money to for an over the counter deposit - this should be the quickest way, you'll need an account number, sort code and the account name.

I can check my account online but i've never really bothered clicking around to see what else is there i'd rather just be off spending more money. Ill just nip in the bank tomorrow when im off just thought i'd save myself a job.

I lost. Do u have the money that you want to pay in or does your mate? I though he was wanting to pay with his debit account?

Neway you dont need internet banking just your mate if he want to pay that way. Or he can just go into bank with your details and pay it from his account.
