****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

To be honest when it come to pick another next gen console i didnt want to give bill gates anymore of my hard earned cash after vista64

Well that's just plain stupid.

Nothing wrong with Vista either, great OS, just has bunch of bad press from the Vista hate bandwagon on the internet.

nope, not in prologue. you do have 4 classes (c,b,a and s in that order) that you can play through, unlocking each one in completion of the last, but no tests.

Id like to see the tests back, and more restrictions on the races. its too easy to buy a few fast cars and muller all the races up to s-class as it is

Doing A-Class at the moment and I can see what people say about the Ford GT. It's crazy for cornering, handling is so tetchy. Although probably the hardest race for me is the BMW M3 Coupe around the mountain track to beat the time - managed to beat the 1m23s, but only by 2s.

Can anyone give some car tips for the 630pts, 680pts and 700pts. S-class races?

I tried the first S-class race with a F430 and got nowhere, would a F40 be able to win those races (as I need to buy one anyway) or would it be best to get a tuned Viper/SRT10/GT (or do they have too much points)

For 630 one use the elise tuned and use the setting someone posted up here to help me. For 680 just the beast of the ford GT.

As for the big hitters races i'm not sure myself just trying to find a car which will do the job. If anyone else can tell me then please do

i done all mine in the elise apart from the last one which im yet to do.....need more time to play lol

It has to be said when you get the setting correct for that car it goes like stink. think I may upgrade to limited edition ford Gt though reckon that will be a beast!!

The control remapping in this game is fantastic... wish all games would introduce something like this. I much prefer playing with the triggers (and my nifty trigger extenders ;)) with racing sims :D

Hopefully :) Didn't notice the bit about the article coming tomorrow, will be interesting to see what he has to say.

Ok, the article is up - it's quite short though. Basically, damage is coming to Prologue in the autumn :D, Polyphony are considering doing an F1 game and the current London track is only half the size of the one that will appear in GT5

Just bought a F430 for the challenge in A-class, really struggling with it, the best i can do it 9th. Having to go really slowly through the windy bits as as soon as my car hits grass it spins.

Thats the Daytona one right..., pass all in one lap? Wait till you get to S-Class and try the F40 on Suzuka, to pass all in 1 lap. I've only been able to get to 6th place.

Don't hit grass then :). Just literally managed 3rd on that challenge after only being able to do 7th or 8th. Trick is to take it easy really. Smooth braking and accelerating.

Hmm yes you're right. It is stupid to be commercially aware of the effect you consumer powers have. Like all you fools who rushed to buy 360s when the failure rates were unacceptably high. All you could think about was playing your little games, when in fact if you'd have been more aware you would realise that all you are doing is supporting a business that exploits the consumers, and they know they will just lap it up. Frankly I don't care either way, if you're happy to spend hundreds of pounds on a console that is almost guaranteed to break within a month or two then you must be a complete mug.

A few things you need to do/know:
1) Know the track, know where to brake and what speed/gear you can take a corner. (the chicane on the straight near the end can be taken in 3rd and not the advised 2nd gear for instance)
2) You are racing on Sports tyres so brake early and don't hammer the throttle exiting a corner but feed the power smoothly.
3) Drafting on the straights is essential
4) Do not hit other cars when overtaking, you need to overtake them fast but not hit them, if you do hit a few cars restart.
5) If you still can't get 3rd enable ASM and try again.

First time I tried I got 6th, second time 4th and the third time got 3rd place just behind 2nd place, I haven't tried it since then but 1st is possible with a good clean fast lap.

I'd rather have a console that breaks after two months than after 18 months when it is out of warranty.

You don't really think that Microsoft is happy with the high failure rate, do you?

finally done the ferrari challenge on suzuka to overtake 15....by far the most frustrating race out of the lot.
not because you need to be so fast but because of penalties for being bumped off the road....i hope they sort that out as it really is a fun killer being hit from the side onto the grass then being penalised for being hit + cutting corners.

it wasnt a very good lap and i only got a bronze but it came to the point as it just wasnt fun anymore.
now to try and find a good car for the last race....this should be fun:p

*EDIT*

just wondering anybody managed to find a nissan gtr black mask(or something along those lines) ?
now it was in the ferrari race and it won each time but im yet to see it at the dealers
