Look like they did the right thing. The french police anyway. Some of those protesters need a good kickin! Orderly protests good, jumping a fence and trying to theive something wrong!

Sky News Europe correspondent Greg Milam said extinguishing the flame was significant because the torch was supposed to be kept alight on its journey around the world.

I think Greg Milam has a bright future in reporting.

If there is one thing the French do better than everyone else, it's protest. Good on them. Puts our efforts to shame.

Apparently the Chinese are broadcasting the processions through the cities with a time delay, editing out the protests. Shocking really.

Someone has to show these buck ****** (pej for chinese) that we won't be constantly defied by them. Nor will we sit back and take their BS. I'm expecting some serious **** to go down outside of Europe when the flame gets there.

Nice that China are flying the flame around the world? Im no green, but that's kinda funny.

So, can someone who thinks the whole Olympic movement is a waste of space please explain their views, or are you just referring to this year's particular incarnation? The latter I can comprehend given the protests, the former is simply beyond me. :/

Th Olympic movement is one of the few organisations which actually has some decent ideals, shame it's dogged by so much politics
