Really cant see the issue myself.
Like any contract you want to cancel you have to get through the sales retention staff before you escape.
Hardly a big deal.
I'd say MS and Sony are probably the last two companies I want to give my CC details to.
Its not a big deal, but an annoyance. Why can you sign up online, change all payment structure, but can't cancel.
You can't tell me that it wouldn't be easier for people if they gave you the option? No service is perfect, from any company (not just talking about consoles here). We are just stating that it would be better if they offered you the option.
i signed up to my broadband online

i signed up to lovefilm online

Hi guys. On Xbox LIVE I have just tried to change from gold membership where I pay £4.99 a month.
Whining about it isnt going to solve anything, yes its annoying, but thats life. Just phone them up, get it sorted and you will be free from it.
Would suck if your kid went in and cancelled it for you, only for you to be charged a full fee to pay again.
Phoning them up to do stuff involving credit cards isn't surprising.
You don't if you get points cards, it automatically reverts to Silver. If you use a credit card you do as you're signed onto a rolling contract.
People make a mountain out of a molehill. You'd be expected to phone your mobile phone network provider for the exact same thing. As I said, it's really not that unusual.

No people dont make mountains out of molehills, you are just so sucked in by microsoft you cant even admit to one tiny little flaw in their perfect little service. You are like a broken record with your microsoft arse kissing, give it a rest for once.
