Changing from gold membership to silver on XBOXlive - how?

What about if the kid decides to buy every game on arcade if i'm out? They let that happen easily.

More fool you then for letting the kid anywhere near the console without first setting up his own account with parental controls and not keeping your own protected from them.

Parental controls are included to avoid that kind of situation you dont have any right to complain if it happens and you dont use the options given to you.

Now if you could please kindly remove whatever it is you have jammed up your backside before posting again it would be much appreciated :)

i only had my 360 a month
but read the manual
can password your account
easy to stop kids buying

So if there are parental controls in place, why don't Microsoft let you cancel online and let you implement parental controls so your kids can't accidentally cancel?

That arguement holds no water, get over the fact that it is a scam and stop trying to defend it.

That was the point I was trying to make against Nokkon's argument.

I'm trying to defend what now? All I said was expect no sympathy if you let a child loose on your 360 and he buys stuff he shouldn't. Doesn't take much common sense to figure out they will do things they shouldn't be doing. I also don't need to 'get over' anything since I don't have a problem :)

why is it a scam?
are you incapable of using a phone? as you agreed to in the terms when you clicked "i accept"

Because Microsoft do this for no other reason than to make it difficult for you to cancel. They could quite easily give you an online option, not only would this be easier for the consumer but MS would actually reduce their own costs as well. But they choose to force you to phone up in the hope that people are too lazy or it's difficult for them to do so.

Fair enough, I assumed you were supporting MS because it looked like you were backing up Nokkon's original point.

so if its too hard to phone then dont accept their terms
what a silly stance to take you agree to the terms so why moan about it afterwards
yeah its a real scam to phone a company to cancel something
did you call watchdog yet?

If you want the product you have no choice but to accept the terms. T&Cs also have to be fair.

Actually you're taking quite a silly stance, do you work for Microsoft?

It is if you can set it up online but can't cancel it the same way.

did you call watchdog yet?

They'd probably be quite interested actually, they've already busted MS over having just a 1 year warrenty for such a faulty product.

From the little I have used the PSN store, the purchases I have used seem fine... and pretty sure its easy to remove the details (not tried though, so don't quote me on that).

But yeah, points and subscription cards F.T.W.

This is honestly the only way to go tbh, when I had my 360 I tried on 3 separate occasions to cancel my Gold subscription at the end of 12 months, and on all three times the billed me for another year so I ended paying for another year even though I didn't want to, I think the reason they do this is that allot of people just accept it and they know that, anyway in the end the only way I could guaranty that they didn't charge me again was to report my credit card as lost or stolen, even then though they tried billing that card again but luckily that time it bounced it back.

Its just microsoft being money grabbers (as usual) - there is no reason for them to make cancelling so hard other than to get more money out of you. If you cant see that then you're blind to be quite honest.

but then Microsoft is a business. Of course it will try and make it hard. That's why retentions teams exist.

Also, you can get the credit card company to block a transaction if someone uses the card without your authorisation.

hard to phone?
seriously are you telling us you find it hard to converse via a telephone?
some people seem to lose all social skills and live on an online world it seems

And thats not hassle?

It's not hard to phone, just incredibly time consuming being put on hold and talking to an incomprehesible monkey at the other end. Its also expensive given that most helplines seem to want to charge you nowadays.

So you may be happy with devoting your time and money to M$ but i'm really not
