EA announces UK Release Date for Rock Band - Timed Exclusive for Xbox 360!

Surely it is more hassle for them to produce new wired peripherals as opposed to the wireless ones they flogged in USA already? Source?

The 360 bundle has only ever been wired guitar though, also i know it was for the PS3 version and maybe its the same for the wireless 360 versions that the GH3 wireless guitar wont work with rockband, wired ones do though.

K so the 360 version is £180 and is wired :(

Hmmmm can someone let me know if the 360 wireless guitar works with the PS3 version of rockband? (I know it seems far fetched but I thought the GH guitars looked identical) :p

Wireless ones cost more. It's due to having to licence the wireless tech for the 360.

No it wont, the PS3 GH3 guitars dont work with PS3 rockband lol, also both use different techs for there wireless and are not compatible.

It's because Redoctane would not disclose the protocol for the Guitars when asked by Harmonix, so the support isn't possible.

Yeah, I thought USA were getting wireless as standard and we were getting wired. Looks like they get wired as well.

I am not into this kind of game anyway, just shocked that a single game experience can cost more than the console you play it on.

This will be like GH2 DLC all over again. People will be up in arms, but will cough up the money and MTV/EA/Harmonix whatever will do the same in the sequel!

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Harmonix had a fix created for it, but it was blocked legally by RedOctane and they wouldn't budge...

Anything we hear is complete spin though I'm sure.

Everyone post your grievences with this farce here: http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?p=489700#post489700

Yeah EvilGrin is right about the guitars. Harmonix had the patch, it was Signed by SOny and ready for upload, but RO blocked it. There is a sticky in the announcements in the RB forums.

What a rip off price. The 360 exclusive doesn't really matter, as PS3 users can import (probably still be cheaper).

I am so glad i imported and have been playing it for months now :D

Can you still do that?

Stupid question but you couldn't give me the dimensions of the box could yah?

My mrs cousin is coming over from the states next month and i'm wondering whether it would be taking the **** asking them to bring me one over.

I'm guessing he's referring to the PS3 version, which I also imported before xmas for less than £100 played to death and then sold on in Feb for a healthy profit :D

The Xbox version is region encoded, so unless you own an American console I don't think it's worth it. Having said that I have seen some places selling it for less than the $170 rrp. Might be worth importing it and just buying the game in the UK so that the instruments work out cheaper than the £130 that they are going to charge in the UK.

Yeah thats a plan, if I could just get the instruments brought over it would be a hefty saving.

Hm, come to think of it, I think my Mum is going to Canada in May... Hmmmm.

Only thing that really worries me about importing is broken instruments and 0 warranty...
