Easyjet or BA?

Dont be an idiot, thats all over now, no need to keep spewing pages of the Sun out of your mouth.

Thanks for that personal attack. If you had bothered to read the rest of the thread you might have kept quiet:rolleyes:

I should point out this comment was tongue in cheek. I actually have a couple of friends who used T5 last week and they said they were very impressed.

Free food with BA? Flew LHR to Italy and their free food was a sandwich and a 10p breakaway bar both ways, cabin was cramped. Had much better flights with easyjet.

You get free drink with BA though. As an ex-frequent flyer on a BA/Easyjet route (Munich) I would never ever use Easyjet unless I really had to. They are far more cramped (I have really long legs and a dodgy knee so I notice this more than most) and I hate the rush for seats. Also I have had a few bad delays with Easyjet, the ratio I have experienced personally was worse than with BA. BA never worked out much more, and were often actually cheaper than easyjet.

Like with everything though, different people will have had different experiences.

You should try putting that next to your original post next time to stop other posters justifiably complaining about your first comment.

Yep everyone has different experiences, BA cannot touch either Ryanair or Easyjets despatch success and turnaround. Although that will change when Easy go to the Airbus. Your extremely unlucky to get a delay with either carrier and watching the guys unload the bags is er worrying but your bags will get off the aircraft usually quicker than the passengers.

At a lot of airports the handlers are non British and really don't give a stuff about your bags. Every single day you see stragglers that have fallen off the handlers vehicles.

I dont fly budget where possible and prefer to pick my aircraft depending on which country does the heavy maintenance on the carrier.

Or, as I said above, people could read the whole thread before calling me an idiot. Actually, I was more offended by it being implied that I'm a Sun reader!!

Can this thread be closed pretty please?

Made my decision ages ago now, so comments are now not useful, but appreciated nonetheless!

Its for a trip back home very soon and the difference in price was something like 12euros. went for BA in the end. Its terminal 2.

Again, thankyou for taking the time to reply to my original post.

Why does easyjet often get a lot of stick for being awful? Recently flew with easyjet and didnt have any problems and the taking off/landing were smooth. Staff were polite etc O_o

Why do people assume that just because its a low cost airline that the crew are less qualified than a "high-cost" airline, they are all qualified ATP's and do exactly the same training, the only difference is carrier procedures.

I think the thread, despite no longer being about your decision, is helpful to others :) So IMO it doesn't require locking. If it annoys you in your User CP / subscriptions, just click unsuscribe :)

Thank you JBuk.

Makunouchi - Apologies if my initial post upset you, as my second post pointed out I've had good reports of T5 from friends. However, NEVER, EVER insinuate that I'm a Sun reader please:D

My dad is in the industry, but honestly, BA screwed up. They knew what happened at Denver and Hong Kong, but they bigged the opening up so much, no queues , no lost baggage, they were setting themselves up for a fall. BA top brass have failed the BA employees and the customers.

:D sure, i went through T5 4 days after opening and it was literally a delight, which was helped by many glasses of wine in the Gordon Ramsey resturant.

Yeah im not saying things didnt go wrong, but it was only for 2-3 days, not for the length of time or to the severity the press made out. Also, what does your dad do?

You are lucky to have the choice.

For most of the country there is no choice unless you want to waste half your day walking around heathrow.

I don't understand why wouldn't you have the same choice as me to pick which airline you fly with?

I flew from Glasgow to heathrow T5 yesterday and then back again in the afternoon and I have to say i had no problems at all and found the whole experience very quick and efficent. That said i had not luggage with me at all.

I hate flying sleazy-jet i would stear clear of them all together.

Easyjet are starting to fly from manchester next month. Ive booked flights with them for next month and for august. Budget airlines are the link between me and my sister, i havnt had any trouble with anyone else and i dont expect anything different from easyjet
