Sensible purchse? - summer convertible

Get the '46 matey. No other cars in the price bracket are any good. Well, actually the '36 is a good car, but looks pants.

VW should be forced to give everyone who bought a new Mk4 Golf Cab a refund. It's a Mk3 Golf Cab with Mk4 front lights. Shameful. And it was £19k new!

I think this is about the only time ever where i have seen a 306 compared with a 330ci Sport!

Ignore the 306. The 330 is a good deal if you were to keep it, but if reselling then spend a bit more and get a low miler, will be much easier to sell come the end of summer or whenever you dont want it any more.

Yeah, thats the consideration I need to think of, sell the focus and keep the 330, just get a hard top for winter.
The mileage could be a pain to sell it, but then it shouldnt make it much less value than it is already.
autotrader says 72 miles away, that means over 100 then probably. Might be worth a drive on Saturday (or even this evening as i'm likely to be closer while in work).

I'd also go for the e46, although you may have missed the boat when it comes to decent prices, now is the time of year everyone starts looking.

Whats the point though? If you are working on a total cost of ownership basis then get a low miler, you will sell it much more easily when you are done with it. There is nothing wrong with the high miler if you wanted to keep it, but you dont :)

Well, 3 series is out of the question, the rear seat is very unsuitable for a child seat. never mind.

So, did the funny thing and put a deposit down on a 306 cab, pick it up on Sat :D

Apparently the 0-60 time is near on 14 secs, yet it doesnt feel like it!

They aren't bad cars :p

My dad owned one, acceleration isn't that bad!

I think they look quite nice and you very rarely see any others on the road..

what colour did you get?
His was 'sunbeam yellow' or something :) with a black leather interior...

I was looking for a cheap one too but went for the megane convertible in the end, 20ltr 16v sport with full leather, automatic hood and a little room in the back ;) Its great fun for the summer.

I'm sorry to hear you've bought a 306 Cabrio. Very slow, very French, very cheap and flimsey inside and although tolerable in a £1k DTurbo I'd be very miffed paying cab money for one.
