How many times have you been stoped by the cops?

3 times... in 3 years lol..

First time I was pulled over when driving to my g/f's house with fog lights on, they were sitting on the side of the road in a bust stop. One lad came out of the car, into the middle of the road?!.. with a big flashing sign and signaled stop to me. They asked me why I had them on, asked if I had been drinking, got brethalised etc. Sent on my way a bit shooken up.

Second time, they didn't believe it was my car and asked me to step out the car and sit in theirs while they did a check on me:confused:.

Third time, stopped again because they did not realise it was my car:mad:
 
Once....for going through a bus gate of all things. The fact there was an ambulance behind me didn't seem to make any difference as I was told by the copper.
 
Once, bloke was a bit of a moron about it really. The perks of driving a 5 series around in a hoody and trackies at 18.
 
Three times for speeding (two lots of points, one lecture).

Twice for lights being out.

That's in twenty years, with all being fair cops.

I've been stopped once as a passenger in my mates car...

I'd just gone to uni, and was getting a lift with my new housemate (who I didn't know fully yet)...
When we get pulled over and searched top to toe for drugs, car gets searched inside out too...

Turns out my new housemate had been driving around a dealer back in his home county and the plate had been recorded as a suspected dealer.

Was a bit embarrasing getting searched down in front of loadsa student flats, everyone looking!
 
Twice in six years of driving

Once for speeding - the policeman was really nice about it, we had a quick chat and he let me go on my way

Once for following someone too closely. Again, the policewoman was nice about it but it wasn't all that fair as the Corsa in front of me left the lights at 10mph and the filter lane was fast running out so I had to follow him very closely to be able to merge in time!

Both times in my MG over the past 12 months or so

Once for 4 people in the back. 5 drunk mates who wouldn't decide who was getting taxi, I got fed up and decided to risk it, got caught. The coppers made 2 get out and get taxi.

Once for silly speeding (80 in 30!) but they had no camera equipment so just got told off.

Once for illegally small numberplate one the front. It was only held on with velcro so changed it for proper one at the roadside.

Cops have always been very polite and fair with me.

Still have a clean licence. :D

Wow, you should ahve about 9 points by now! or even a ban! Isn't a fine for having more people in your car than seats?
 
People actually getting stopped for leaving fog lights on ?

As for getting stopped...

As a Nutter teenager.... THOUSANDS of times. Once was out the front of my house. He wouldn't let me get my license... He was just being an arse coz he wan't me to use more fuel taking my license into town.

Recently ? Can we call 15 years ish recent ?
Last year... I was in my truck on the A46 approaching Coventry at about 01:30. as I went up to the roundabout at the top (A45 - turn right) the lights were red but I knew they would change as I rolled through them and being high up I could see nothing was coming... so I kept it going..

It was a bloody copper behind me !!

He followed me up to the airport roundabout and then pulled me... Gave me the usual spiel.. Checked my license and said "Ooo it's clean.. Lets keep it that way shall we"

Then Said... I'm a copper.. I had to stop you !!

Then let me go !!
 
hmm, 9-10 times maybe. In 8 ears that's not too bad really. They always seem to have at least a half decent reason, and fortunately I've never been 'busted'.
 
Twice in a year or so of driving, first time was genuine, the insurance company made a mistake, putting my reg down as M841 instead of N841, just got a producer and phoned the insurance to get it all sorted, all was fine.

Second time was a random spot check, they flashed me to let me out a junction but i didnt see them so sat for a while waiting for them to move on before finally moving out infornt of them, then they pulled me 30 seconds after and asked where i'd been then sent me on my way :s.
 
i still get nervous when i get stopped... its just that weird feelling... sort of please god don't take my license it took me 7 atemps and 3 years to get this....
 
Once when I had a car full of drunken friends and 3 crates of larger in the back. I stepped out of the car and they said "have you been drinking?" I was like "err no" and that was the end of it.

Didn't even get breathalized! I hadn't been drinking but I could have understood how it looked to the policeman.
 
I have been stopped a few times, once for having fog lights on when it was foggy, I mean it was really foggy but not foggy enough according to the plod. Wasn't going to debate it so I turned them off.

Stopped for having a head light totally out, had the bulb ready but said I needed to take the light unit out as I couldn’t get to it. He had a crack, agreed and sent me on my way.

Was with my mate in a car park and we decided to have a look under the bonnet of his car as it was making an odd noise. He had a Nissan skyline, we were both in hoodies and it was peeing it down with rain. After a few secs the blue lights started flashing and they detained us. Having his car keys wasn’t enough lol.

Few more but cba to type them out.
 
never in 3 months :eek: my L plates been half missing a few times I've filtered past police cars but they don't seem to bother, I guess they can't really catch up if they wanted too though.
