*snips*
First PC was an Amstrad Mega PC, which I believe is a bit of a collectors item now and I think it's still in my dad's loft somewhere.

I remember upgrading it to 4mb Ram which at the time cost well over £150
*snip*

I sooo wanted one of those Mega Pc's, yet I had all but forgotten them until your post! The ads always made me drool. :o

And 4mb Ram. Respect! :D

First computer was a ZX80

First build yaself one was Athlon 1000 - abit kt7a raid - 512mb ram - 2x IBM 40GB HDD - asus geforce somat or other

My first computer was a BBC Micro! :D

First PC was a Pentium 133, 16MB RAM, 400MB HD, 2MB S3 graphics card. I eventually upgraded from the 2MB graphics to a 4MB S3 Virge to match my shiny Voodoo 2 12MB! :D

Emachines 150DVD:

Celery 1200Ghz
128MB SDRAM
Intel 810i mobo
ugly case
20GB IDE HDD
DVD Player.

Well it was an Amiga 500 but I dont know the specs of that!.

First 'PC' was a Zenith 286 laptop, ran at 12MHz and had a maths co-processor in a socket underneath LOL.

My first actual computer was a 'Science of Cambridge MK14'. Had to build it myself, soldering components. Then it would only accept machine code programs into it's tiny memory (less than 1kb after all upgrades). All programs were lost when you switched off. The guy that put this out into the world became known later as...... 'Sinclair' !.

Regards

OMFG

About time an aged person made a thread about this :p;)

Mine was a C64 on the day of launch (£350 the old dear paid for it) and I raped my Sony twin tape deck copying all of my friends games and vice versa :D

Packard Bell P60 system about two weeks before the P60 was redundant and replaced with the P75. My dad bought it for me for my NC Computing course at college for about £1000.

It came with Windows 3.1, 420 Mb hard disk, 1 Mb PCI video card, 4x CD-ROM drive and 14" CRT. :)

We used to play some downhill skiing game.

Horris goes Skiiing

Edit: And you live in Lowestoft, hows The Darkness? :p and is that damn bridge dividing the town still going. I used to hate the ****ing thing especially when maintenence was been done between the early hours of Saturday night and Sunday morning

First computer was a Dragon 32

Upgraded to an Amiga A500.. Daughter lubricated it so it got replaced on insurance with an A500+

Upgraded to an A1200.. then extra accelerators.. ram..scsi controllers etc.

Then built my first pc
Tyan tsunami P2 @300mhz
512 mb ram
Matrox G200
500mb IDE HD and 4 gb scsi 2 fast & wide HD for NLE
and an £1200 NLE card with built in scsi & sound
21" Belinea CRT

Upgraded Mobo to Asus CUV4X P3 at 500mhz and used other bits.
It was a disaster.. Via chipset hell. Distorted sound.. useless for NLE.
Slight downgrade to Asus CuBx.. Still rocking to this day.....If I bother to switch it on.

Upgraded to This machine
Msi K8 AMD 64 xp3500
2gb corsair Ram
5 Large Ide hard drives
LCD monitor (Belinea 20" )

There first indy game only had indianapolis (and 3 cars,), it was indy 2 where they started with other tracks

You're quite right I forgot all about indianapolis 500. I did have that also. But by the time I played it it was old and superseded by Indycar racing.

Lowestoft bridge has recently undergone some major works. Lasted for about 6 months, they only finished a few weeks ago. They have now replaced all its mechanical parts.
