I just got my new Samsung F1 1TB drive, and I popped it into my machine, which has a Gigabyte P965DS3 motherboard. The drive shows up as 33MB !

There are some hints of it being a BIOS issue, but I am on the latest F13X version of the BIOS (also tried F7 and F12). No reported issues that I can find on the web though.

Anyone else had this problem ? (Cross-posting in Hard Disk/Mobo forums)

Is the BIOS reporting it as 33Mb?

Which set of SATA ports are you using, Intel or JMicron?

What does Disk Management in Windows reckon the drive size is?

Intel

The Intel ones.

The BIOS reports 33MB and XP/Vista both report 32MB ...

Further update, popped it in my MSI P35 Neo-F board, it sees it as a 8GB drive ....

New F1

Just picked up another F1 from my local supplier, and just to test popped it into my 3rd PC on an Asrock Dual4VSTA, it is recognised immediately. That other drive was toast for sure.

Will install properly in my primary later on and bench it.

I will do, the 3200's and the 6400 are due to be delivered tommorrow morning. I'm messing with the F1 at the moment, but initial test reveal it's almost double the speed of my current setup.
