I might get it on both platforms to see the difference in multiplayer opponents as i tend to find that the 360 is full of kids.

Saints Row was great ... but under 18's should *FO* imo

lol can opinions actually be wrong?

Maybe if i had played them on the PC and didnt spend most of my days sessioning ps2 then my opinion would be different.

I brought that double pack thing for the original xbox when it came out and it was sheer :\

edit bit too late n cant quote coz my browser is gippo.

It can't be denied that GTA gained the majority of its current fame on the PS2, i imagine this is why people think of it as a playstation game - not because it was only released on it or released first, but its because the majority of people will only played it/played it first on playstations

yes, but if GTA III was released on the xbox first it would have the same impact....

But they were out for playstation first.

I brought that double pack thing for the original xbox a while back at it was sheer :\

i played GTA, GTA London, GTA II, GTA III, Vice City & SA on the PS1 - PS2 and then on the XBOX and on the PC and i dont see it as a PS game... just as a multi platform game that i would prefer to purchase on my 360 rather than my PS3.

Anyways... i have a cracking question for all you GTA fans.....

here goes:

If R* offered you GTA IV early would you buy it ... and how much would you be willing to pay for it?;)

Maybe for you but i played them on release.

edit for your edit i cant really remember the first 2 as i was <5 or summat.

Your profile says you are 21. GTA 1 was released in 1997, so the earliest you could have played it would have been when you were 10-11 or so.

Detective at work here :D

Yes. Probably only about £70 now as we are only 11 days from release anyway.

I bought GTA 1, 2 and London way before they were released on the PS1. I can totally understand where Nanoman is coming from though. It's in the same vein as saying Devil May Cry is associated with the Playstation platform, despite the 4th one being released on 360 too.

I really do think we all need to pipe down on the aggressiveness here guys, it is astonishing how much ill-will towards each other there is over GTA. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 owners have the opportunity, yet this causes more discontent than it should. The best thing to do when you see somebody else say that he likes a certain controller more than the one you do, or likes it on a certain platform that you don't, is to just leave them alone and remember you're on the exact opposite of the spectrum and that guy is wondering the same thing about you but not exactly being aggressive about it either. Just get along guys.

Times are changing, the playstation brand is experienceing more competition than ever. This is an amazing thin for MOST people, however those with fanboy like beliefs will ultimately miss out on some quality games.

In this case they miss out on a large chunk of content to one of the most anticipated games ever.

Fair enough if your a casual gamer, owning one console, but youd think on a dedicated internet forum it would be mostly GAMERS.

He's entitled to his opinion, no need to be jumping on Nanoman. His opinion is fine, I can see how people see it as a Playstation game as that's the only console it was on until MUCH later when it was ported onto Xbox.

What you played on before shouldnt get in the way if it means a better experience elsewhere, in my opinion at least.

If shenmue gets released on the xbox, Im sure as hell not gonna wait for it be on a SEGA console!

SEG-ahhhhhhhhhh.

i'm torn, have ps3 and 360 in the lounge so really should get it for the 360, but the ps3 is so much quieter lol, plus my 360 throws dirty disc errors randomly which spoils my gaming experience, despite discs being brand new :(. Anybody comment on whether the graphics/ framerate are know to be better on one or the other?

Yeah but you seem to think that you alone can define what a "gamer" should do. IT IS NOT THAT CLEAR CUT :).

If this was "classic console GTA" which is a single player experience then sure 360 version all the way for dual owners as there WILL be more content on the 360 for single player.

Suddenly there is multiplayer in the equation (1st time in GTA on consoles).

To some extent this means the game will potentially be played "longer" than previous titles so things like:

1) Which controller you prefer (over long period of times)
2) Which network you have more friends or people you want to play with
3) Hardware noise/reliability (not as important as the above 2 to me).

come into play.

hence my initial plan to get the 360 version changed to get the ps3 version , which is now changed to get whatever copy I can on released day!!!

360 for me and I have had it on pre-order since last July.

Having never played any of the previous GTA titles this will be an interesting title and having just read a small amount of the review from OXM this will be a game that should be well worthy of all the hype that has been bubbling up for the last few months around this title.

Now just need to finish off lost odyssey before I start to play this.

There is a 99% chance there will be a 1% difference between the games.

Both will be made to very high standards, Rockstar North standards.

It would be safe going for the 360 version incase you fall in love with the game.

And at no point is he guaranteed better experience on the Xbox360, so he's hedging his bets by going for something he's familiar with. He's played the past versions on PS2 and Xbox, he preferred the PS2 version, so he's going to do it again isn't he.

Nothing wrong with that at all?
