Price check, Jaguar

X-Type 3.0 V6 Sport (with the BBS alloys) Manual, 77,000, 52 plate, FJSH, new brakes, belt done, new tyres, MOT'd, full leather, lots of extras with original purchase receipt, no sat nav though, all round condition immaculate.

£3900.

I knew depreciation was bad on these, but that is amazing.

There is a chap (whose personality rhymes with 'sick') at work who has one and always takes two or three parking spaces, even though there aren't enough spaces for everyone. He bought it new, might have to go and twist the knife a bit next week :D

It was getting dull so I only have two pics on my blackberry & nowhere to host. It's an 01 not an 02, bright red, looks like it's covered about 20,000 miles tops.

Last service receipt £800 spent (service & new clutch).

£33,000 worth of car in 2001. 2008 = £3900. Bwahahahaha. :D

How much 3 or 5 series does £3900 get you Fox?

Yea but then the equivalent BM won't grenade itself at every chance, or have a wierd cramped interior :p

I mean 20k miles and a new clutch? Jesus!

These Jags have nil residuals at all seemingly......loads around for under 5k!

Anyway, I hope it gives him good service :D

Cash remaining tax in in Feb 09. Buy years tax @ old rate. This gives me until the end of Feb 2010 by which time new car.

Ah this thought had crossed my mind too. I was wondering if it was possible and you have just confirmed it :D nice work.

Sounds like a great bargin, I bought a 2.5 V6 sport in November and love it to bits, loads of room inside (im 6'2"), big boot and quiet, The sport gives much improved suspension over other models. I paid twice as much but that was before the new tax prices were anounced :(

I wanted the 3.0 V6 but could not live with an Auto box so had to go with the 2.5.

Even with the tax and fuel issue it's value should be higher than that, so he's got a bargain. After all, if it was purely that then you should be able to buy mint 330i's for the same money which of course you cannot.

Parkers said £4800 ish private, she priced it up at £4200, offered £3900 & she took it.

This one was especially cheap granted but it seems generally Jaguars are moving into the bargain band.

A Manual, Im guessing this is an older model then as they stopped making manual 3.0 V6 in 2003 i think?

My choice was for a car that was manual, and less then 60,000 miles, and could not find a a manual 3.0 in this range at the time... then again, my 2.5 averages 28mpg and the 3.0 is worse ;) this was also a deciding factor :)
