Have you ever not wanted to buy a console because of the people that created.

i fail to see the logic in that
if xbox or ps3 went away not much would change
developers would just switch loyalty they need to eat too
nintendo would be least missed they offer nothing but mario

developers would switch whatever console vanished form the market. they wouldnt just stop developing. there's no logic in your argument either. as for nintendo well, with the userbase fast on track to becomming the biggest selling console of all time, there is a lot of money to be made there too.

I held off buying the original xbox for a few reasons, one of them was because it was an MS machine. The others where is was pigging huge and pig ugly, also when it first released it wasn't very popular and very expensive.
But i eventually bought one.

I never hear you complain about the size of the PS3 though ;).

Nintendo offer something in the console market that no one else does, this is clearly a significant offering too demonstrated by its huge fan-base. It is unique and thus would be missed if it disappeared.

The PS3 is near enough identical to the 360 in terms of gaming hardware, the only thing lacking is its software which will be rectified in the coming year. However, it offers several functionalities over the 360 that make it also very popular as a media center such as built in wireless, interchangeable 3rd party HDDs and a built in High Definition disk drive. Yet again, these are features that no other console has and would be missed if it were to be removed from the market.

The 360, yet again in terms of gaming hardware is very similar to the PS3, it's software lineup is stronger however as was stated in another post, developers would just move over and bolster other consoles lineups if it were to stop being produced. The 360 lacks some of the key components that make the PS3 a more impressive piece of entertainment hardware. It fills no niches that other consoles don't unlike the previous two, hence, as Kreee stated, the 360 is probably the console that would be missed least if it disappeared. Software can be produced at any time during a consoles existence to fill the gap the disappearance of the 360 would leave (as Sony are demonstrating with their upcoming firmware update to improve online gaming) however hardware can't, and at present the 360 offers no hardware features that make it unique in this generation.

Disclaimer: I like the 360, I'm merely pointing out how i feel Kreeeee is correct in saying that the 360 would be the least missed in this generation.

yes but really how many wii's are sold and played for a day then forgotten
look at the big nintendo games like mario sell so little to installed userbase
they are lucky that console is sold for a profit as if they had to take loss on it then they would be losing a lot of money

I'm sure luck has nothing to do with it.

5.2 million copies of mario galaxy have been sold to date. six hundred thousand copies of mario kart wii sold in the opening week for the Japanese launch. in the uk it had the 8th biggest opening week for a game ever and became the fastest selling wii game in the uk so far, selling more than Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers, Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario did combined.

so no, not many;)

LOL this is absolutely pathetic.

I prefer consoles due to the graphics, games and controllers.

I wouldn't despise sony for the downfall of the dreamcast but a moral sense can be a good thing you know, as is the ability to question things and think about the decisions that contribute to the world around you.

I tend to prefer consoles due to graphics, games and controllers as they all contribute to the overall experience, something sega could have been contributing too more if the dc hadn't stopped production so early.

Dude use full stops and not new lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair, although the PS3 is quite bog, i think because of the material it is made from and the shape of it it is disguised quite well tbh. It isn't as instantly noticable as the xbox was when it first came out.

It really is very simple. Nintendo are the only innovators at the moment, something this market would sorely miss.

True, though it doesn't have the advantage Xbox had of allowing you to stack :p. I never complained about the size of the Xbox (and stated the next consoles would be bigger, but Nintendo had to screw that theory up) and I won't complain about the size of the PS3 either.

Yeah, but the xbox was just quite a shock cos of its bulk and uglyness. Seeing it in a shop and it looked like an ugly VCR really did not scream 'forefront of technology' lol

True, but the PS2 was a minger too. All 3 of the consoles were a bit nasty looking.

Big difference was that you could stand a PS2 up for me. Just pressed it against the side of my tv stand and pretended it wasn't there.
