Champions League Semi Final *Spoilers* 22/23 April

Lampard was shocking tonight, which is probably to be expected by what the commentators were saying about his mum. Is Essien back next game, he may turn it for them as he has pulled them out of the **** in the last two games.

1-1 isn't the worst result in the world, we're still in it and if United can beat Chelsea on Saturday that'll do us a lot of favours. Had Cech not managed to get up so fast and make a terrific save at the end there this tie would be over, but that's football I suppose.

Thought Alonso was excellent again tonight, didn't put a foot wrong and should deservedly get the MotM award.

I think that's fair, but the advantage is clearly at Chelsea now.

Both sides were extremely poor.
I hope chelsea are as bad on saterday.
Neither side showing anything that EITHER united or Barcelona need to worry about on that performance from the pair of them tonight.

That oggie shows that he has no confidence using his right foot.

Exactly, thats why he headed but the clown was not in the correct position anyway. He should have been back facing out in the first place which would have allowed him to hammer it away.

Wrong position and wrong choice of clearance.

You're being a little harsh on Riise guys. He HAD to make the header and it wasn't easy. If he didn't Anelka had a tap in. It was a difficult header and it span off his head the wrong way. He was unlucky.

Either way, bad game of football with neither team doing anything worthy. A Lampard error gives Liverpool a goal (albeit with the luckiest slice ever) and a Riise own goal the other way.

Why did Grant think hoofing the ball long to Drogba would work? All game they tried it until the 83rd when he brought Anelka on to change it up. He's a woeful manager. He then takes off Ballack, the only player looking like creating anything when Malouda misfired all night doing nothing (again). He really is a rubbish manager who seems to get lucky.

On Liverpool side, nothing really stood out, their goal came from a massive sliced ball. Torres wasted a shed load of chances (again) and other than that, didn't do much. Not sure whether Carragher got the ball in the first half (the balls spin didn't change AT all) and that would have been him off, but other than that he and Skrtel did well.

Difficult to pick a Man of the Match to be honest, I would have said Ballack, but probably Skrtel.

The ball was about a yard of the floor, in front of goal the only option is to hoof it away (which Riise could have easily done with his right foot).

Heading the ball in that situation can only result in an own goal.

Surprisingly civilized review there Nokkon. ;)

Although the ball did change ever so slightly for the Carragher on Drogba challenge. The referee wouldn't have ever seen it but it did.
