Do you tip pizza/chinese/Indian delivery drivers?

Why would you tip someone for doing their job? Ive never understood tipping, if they go above and beyond what their job requires in terms of service or whatever then maybe, but im not doing it out of hand.

I never tip taxi drivers, ever since one charged me and some mates £20 to go less than a quarter of a mile.

I sometimes let private taxi drivers keep a rounded amount e.g. the journey cost £2.80 I let them take £3.00 only if they pick up a mate or stop at a cash point. Otherwise I don't. I never tip black cab drivers as the fees are ridiculous now. It's almost doubled in 7 years :/

ok guys, here is a tip if you excuse the pun.

In resturants, tip BEFORE your meal, if im going to a decent place, where the bill will go to more than 100. Slip your waiter 10 or 20 quid as your being shown you seat this will

a) ensure you get fantastic service all night

b) you get to do that cool folded note in the palm of the hand thing.

I do this and it has not let me down yet,

You've got a point, but then again, perhaps they may have less incentive to work hard, although they would have to pretty nasty to do that!

Why should I tip them? My take away charges a £1 for delivery and I ordered £38.60 and still no free delivery.

I gave the driver £39.00 and waited about minutes 2 at the door, while he was rummaging for the 40p change. He did have a bit of a hacked off look on his face when he walked off.

^ so the next time you order from them... the do stuff to your food before delivering :p

Yeah but once it took 1 1/2 hours for a pizza to come, I thought i'd be nice and take the stone cold pizzas, driver wouldn't even give me discount, free dips, nothing. I have every right to be rude.

I find I don't tip takeaway deliveries so much these days, because if I order something like Dominos/Papa Johns etc... I pay for it online, thus I don't have any need to have any cash exchange hands.
