Your favourite piece of artwork?

Not sure what my favourite piece of art would be.

Here's some of mine, taken on my phone camera so some a bit blurry..,

Constable would be the easy answer, but mine goes to Mr Grimshaw who I discovered during my art a-level and have loved since. The actual piece I originally liked I cant find online, it is of a stream, but heres some of his other work. Ridiculous detail.

Love this picture... it's just so clean and simple, and reminds me of a peaceful holiday somewhere warm and uncluttered. I had a small colour print on my wall for a few years. Would really like a nice big canvas print of it, but I can't:

a) Find a shop selling canvas prints of this, or
a) Find a high enough resolution to get a custom canvas print done

Any suggestions as to how to get a large print, canvas or otherwise, would be much appreciated!

Not sure if it counts but I got these off DA a few years back :)

Everyone who walks in comments on them, I've stared at them for hours, several times they have been my desktop backgrounds - I think they look awesome :).

Favourite work of art is a very subjective. There are quite a few Renaissance artists that I absolutely adore, and then again I'm also a big fan of Canaletto's work.

That said tough, my all time favourite piece of art isn't a painting at all but a building, the Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral)! Half a millennia in construction, and it still isn't fully completed.

Agree entirely about the Duomo di Milano, it is such an amazing building. The architecture and detail is superb.

Starry Night - Van Gogh, is one of my favourite pieces of art. I know it is an incredibly obvious choice but I used to love looking at it when I was a toddler and a print hung in my mum and dads room.

Banksy. Some of his stuff is awesome!

When I heard about Banksy, I thought his stuff sounded a bit pretentious. I still do, in the sense that I think his political works have a more powerful message than his general street art.

But having seen a few pieces on boarded up buildings near my offices in london, I've got to admit it does bring a smile and makes the area seem more interesting. I should take a few photos - he's just done another one in the last month.

cant deny his genius...although there's lots of types of graffiti....he's the only one that makes 'art'. i hope its not too modern for this thread.

I was the same - it was only when I saw the one he did in Liverpool (near the Raz for those who know where) that I was won over. Very cool I think.

No he's not! The graffiti in Brazil is amazing. Another guy Penski (I think) brought to my attention is Blek le Rat, Banksy seems to take a huge, huge influence from him.
