Well there are two betas, Fileplanet one capped at lvl13 and a full lvl closed beta. You need to be a FP subscriber to access their one or be invited to the Funcom Closed beta.

aye there is almost always a flavour of the month profession, certainly in the early stages, then the nerf cries start, its a downward spiral of nerfing and "balancing" from then onwards

Knowing my luck Necromancer is the first to be nerfed since it's the class I want to go.

caster/healer classes usually get the bat 1st due to one skill or other allowing them to be pretty untouchable in one manner or another

creature classes might do depending on the numbers for the creatures, somethimes they start too overpowered, sometimes they are under powered, but wont ever get a boost perma gimping the creature classes...till other profs are steadily nerfed eventually falling into line with the creature classes hehe

Ok i cant decide between the standard edition or collectors edition this is what id get.....

Standard:
3 days early access
mammoth
8 extra iventory slots

Collectors edition:
3 days early access
mammoth
8 extra iventory slots
In game items:
Ring of Acheron gives the player higher XP points
Drinking Cape gives free drinks in all of Hyboria’s taverns

Im leaning towards the CE due to some very nice stuff, but then again the soundtrack and art book will probably only look at it once. Ill probably go for it, so whats everyone else getting?

but it's £35 more than the normal edition ... I'd go normal, no game is worth £60

I wish I knew which collectors edition gives you 3 days and a mount, because from what I can tell none do, at least mine does not and i'm getting it locally

Standard edition: £0 yep thats right
CE £5

But if i did i wont get £55 off the metal gear solid 4 PS3 bundle, so gotta pay full wack.

If you preorder any edition, you'll be emailed a key which you enter on the Funcom site - you pay five Euros - you get three days to download the client, and three days to play it (and then an extra seven days play).

The preorder headstart is only to level 20, though.

Yeah, the Mount/Inventory from the preorder comes on a code in the box itself, and that comes when the game is released on the 23rd.

So if you pay the extra you get to lvl quicker? This sounds like a total rip-off to start with.

Its the way MMOs are headed. First they tried to ban sales of ingame characters/valuables on egay but they plan to sell ingame items themselves. By them I mean plaync/other developers. Plaync already sell character transfers and name changes.
