All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Chelsea is a little harsh, he's been forced onto the wings for a lot of it, when he's brought into 2 up top he'd created stuff. Doesn't help that Chelsea's style isn't free-flowing, it's set-pieces and the ball in the air.

Don't get me wrong, he's been a good team player at Chelsea working hard in defence and making good runs for others but as a striker he's been average at best.

Man City get a red card, threatening their chances for the UEFA fair play place.

Man City go in at half time looking poor, but not terrible, for some important words of wisdow from Sven.

Man City emerge for the second half and promptly roll over for Middlesbrough, barely even bothering to try and tackle.

EDIT: Why did I put this in the Transfer thread? Oops.

Well it worked...they'll be in Europe and the 8-1 drubbing will be forgetten next season!

I reckon Owen would be a decent signing for Man U or Chelsea, although I don't want him to leave. :p

I think as well he's not as much of a crock as people think, apart from the first two seasons with us, he hasn't played less than 30 games in a season (excluding his very first season, for obvious reasons).

Because if Liverpool had said that the never would have signed Torres. I reckon at Man U or Chelsea Owen would get 20 goals (he got 12 for us, and everyone knows how bad Newcastle have been this season).

He wouldnt get 20 goals because he would never be available for selection.

He is a crock, we are on the verge of shipping one out, we dont want to ship another (28 year old) crock in who doesnt have a top scoring record despite being a one dimensional out and out striker.

Thats why.

You haven't watched Newcastle since March then? Ah well, never mind.

I doubt Berbatov has scored 20 Premiership goals in a season and yet there's apparently a whole host of clubs lining up to buy him...

If Bent is worth £16.5mil then Owen is a decent punt for £7mil.

Done believe everything you read, if there is anyone after him, it will be one (desperate) club who a clamoring for a half decent striker and will pay any price.

Berbatov has scored one more goal than Tevez in the league this year, why would for United for instance ***** up the reported £20 million plus for that One more goal and loose the work ethic our or current front two?

No, I've only seen the chelsea match, and a third of decent season doesnt change a careers worth of evidence does it?

Why would we pick owen over either of our front two?
We need another striker, but it isnt going to be someone who simply cant be relied upon to stay fit or put the work in, and Owen cant be relied upon.
