Just to add, it's also easy to pick the best team in the country and support them, lots of 'fans' seem to do that.
 
is that a dig at me or a dig at other fans? i missed the point sorry, either way fair enough. i like torres, i'd take him but i'm very happy with what we've got.

k... first dig was at atpbx beacause I thought he was only saying he didn't want Torres because he signed for Liverpool. :p

and the other dig was at glory seekers, not you in particluar.

and in my defence I am drunk atm so probably sounding bitter and annoyed.

No, I've never fancied him, same as i never have thought a lot of Owen to be honest.
Its as much to do with the attitude on the pitch, I like Rooney and Tevez because they are always on the go always putting tackles in, barging into players, bouncing off players, falling over, while at the same time being damn good footballers.
I like Anderson for the same reason, i Like Vidic because for the same reason, and Evra.
Its the same reason why i dont like Scholes and Giggs, they are the polar opposite in terms of attitude, its also why i am completely indifferent to Ronaldo, he doesnt have that mentality, but he scores lots of goals so you let it go, I really wouldnt care if he got sold tommorow.
Its why my favorite players over the years have been the likes of Keane and Vieira and its why i was sad to see Alan Smith go to newcastle to rot away the rest of his career.

Why is it only Man Utd fans get that?

Even when Chelsea were winning everything we were still getting it. I love it, it makes me love my club even more. I know I support them for genuine reasons, and thats good enough for me

Even if I had a house built on to Old Trafford and was born on the pitch, you lot would still find a reason why I am not a real fan.

Surely Torres fits your ideal striker then, he works hard, is strong ,puts his foot in etc.He's certainly got work ethic and a positive attitude.

Every successful club will get grief from opposition fans, its the price of being successfull, but it seems [some] united fans get the hump over this more than most.Get over it.

I don't get the hump over it at all mate, far from it. Like I said, I take the same sort of satisfaction from it as you would from having a fancy car and everyone checking it out. I love it

But it just always makes me wonder why no other successful club seems to get it

Because he has potential to become an immense player. Yes he has some flaws in his game but if there is anyone who can sort them out it is Wenger.
You can see from there the guy has vision but that clip will also show some of his problems i.e. holding onto the ball for too long but Wenger can sort that out. He scores goals and has great vision, he would be ideal for us.

As far as I'm aware he isn't in the Lyon team because he has problems with the coach and Benzema not because he isn't good enough.

Good lord I just found out the Euro 2008 final is on my girlfriends birthday, whilst we're on holiday. Someone didn't plan this very well.

Anyway, point to my research was that the Euro's kick off on the 7th June. Guessing Fergie will want any business to be done before then.
