SPL Season 2007/2008 Thread **Spoilers**

Video evidence is the way ahead but it has to be installed to the same standard in all the grounds. Perhaps this should be added to the list of requirements for SPL Membership. x number of cameras at certain locations around the ground. Otherwise it cant be effective if theres 12 cameras at ibrox 12 at parkhead and 2 at dundee utd for example.

seems to work well in rugby.

Rugby is a more stop/start game than football. The biggest problem would be the time delay in getting a decision from the fourth official. Even then, that would be disputed by most. I suppose it depends what shade of specsavers finest the officials are wearing.......

I'd go for improving the standard of refs/assistants first. Make them full time pros to start with. The SFA (and SPL to an extent) strike me as old organisations stuck in the past, they need to bring a lot of their practices into the 21st century. Just look at the fixture chaos this year as an example, winter break anyone?

Celtic may well have had a few decisions go their way when they should have been awarded to the other teams but we stil had to work to make them count. We didn't get the blatant decisions that Rangers are profiting from and nor do we want them. Rant over.

roflmao, for example, the McDonald offside goal at a recent old firm game benefited Celtic slightly ;). Getting the unfair decisions and then scoring (whether there was a lot of work involved afterwards) isn't the point, they shouldn't be given in the first place.

What Levin failed to recognise is that every team benefits at some point due to our rubbish refs, his team has been no exception. His comments after the St Mirren game are in a stark contrast to his recent outburst.

Please explain how that is possible.

The Rangers fans convoy was all over the road with a fair bit of double parking causing problems. Don't know whats happening outside your own stadium? Hmmmm.

He went there to be offended and was.

Well there's all sorts of replies I could make to that one but they would probably get me banned. Offended? No just baffled as to the anti-bigotry claims made by a club that blares sectarian tunes out of the PA system. Scotland's shame.

(Scotlands shame) your making it sound most one sided Ed! This comming from a Celtic supporter where all celtic supporters are Whiter than White? Hmm ok then.... Ooooh look a flying pig. I am sure you will be the first on this thread tomorrow night if we lose... like we will care anyway, most of us if not all will be having a good time.

Win or lose! Lose..... we wont be posting till say Friday! Win and it wont be until next week :D . I am guessing most Celtic fans are ******* themselves incase we win though, I know I was when Seville came around for your lot.

Anyhoo, Hopefully going to Manchester tomorrow morning after I get my car looked at tonight by a mechanic, need a quick fix for the motor, thank god for long nights :D

The sash itself is not a sectarian song despite what you hear from certain areas of Scotland. There have been sectarian "addons" in the past. Celtic Also have songs which themselves are not sectarian but some fans sing sectarian "addons" to. Should these also bee banned.

As far as I'm concerned then yes, you might as well ban the Celtic songs that are so strongly linked with sectarianism also. I've got no particular love for or allegience to either side of the Old Firm, I'd be absolutely delighted if the petty bigotry could be eradicated from Scottish football entirely.

I'm generally not in favour of banning things because of a minority and interfering with otherwise legitimate enjoyment of such songs but here I think the end might just justify the means.

FT: Gretna 1-0 Hearts :D

How much hilarity can one football club provide? :D

Goddamn it, I'm trying to make a point here and my team has to go and undermine me yet again. :D

Ah well, I'd already written the season off a good few months back now so nothing really surprises me about the saga that is Hearts anymore.

been yoyo'ing quite a bit since the takeover a few years back, shame as your lot were playing some pretty decent football, and looked like chalenging the OF for a while..

It seems to have been mainly youth players for Gretna. It was an injury time winner too. :D

I wish I still had an account on Jambos Kickback. The forum must be in meltdown!

hearts pretty much ended any chance of challenging the old firm by getting rid of george burley. Amazing how so much can go so wrong in such a short period of time

Well Rangers drop 2 points at Hearts to hand the initiative to Celtic.

Celtic winning the league would be a great thing, the thick Celtic fans hate Strachan and want him sacked, so that will annoy them, while Rangers blowing the treble will annoy them, win/win situation :)
