UEFA Cup Final **Spoilers**

best rangers player for me was broadfoot.

He was absolutely abysmal going forward. In his defense, he was quite effective in Rangers own third. He absolutely never should have played full back for Rangers this year and he cannot attack but what do Rangers expect when they play former St Mirren centre backs as right full backs in the UEFA Cup Final?

Rangers thoroughly deserved their loss tonight. Walter made some poor calls, left it too late, even after the goal went in he's waited to give Novo 15 minutes and McCulloch 12 minutes after Darcheville (despite his best efforts) doing absolutely **** all in the whole match. Broadfoot should have been replaced for Novo instead of Papac. They looked like if they had a bit longer their long ball strategy would have worked but of course they had about 6 minutes to implement it due to the woeful management tonight. Hemdani would have got pulled at half time if he'd fancied trying anything other than the "let's have T in the Park in our own third" strategy that has worked so well this year.

Best player for me as with the rest of the season, was Cuellar. Phenomenal player.

We were defeated by the better team on the night. We got through against Werder Bremen, Sporting Lisbon and Fiorentina by playing the same tactics so I can't fault Walter Smith. Unfortunately the whole system is based on not conceding. As soon as we lost one we were stuffed.
We can have one night of feeling doen, but there's still a league and cup to win!

Others will come after us. We welcome the chase.

Its anti football, Rangers could have given that team a good proper game if they tried but chose to go down the boring play for penalties route.

This will deflate the team, it wouldnt surprise me if they lose the league and perhaps the cup after this.

Why would losing the final make Rangers lose to Queen of the South? Reality check please.

As a rangers fan I'm proud of the team getting to the finals. You could tell we don't have the player pool and were really up against it but good on Smith and co for getting us there.

Shame on those questioning their management skills.

Now at least we can get back to winning the league and cup....

Asked me in Aug 2007 if I'd accept the treble and I'd have kissed you. Stop moaning ffs.

Lest we forget the absolutely ridiculous fixture fiasco that Rangers have had to deal with in the last month or so.

Zenit had 13 days free of competitve competition, Rangers had.... 3.

You're just a No insults. Big Kev by the sounds of it.
It is not anti-football at all. It's called making the best use of limited resources. In the world of the employed we understand this concept. In the east end of Glasgow where one's life is looked after by the state it's not so common.

Well, of course you would.

Ask me any point in my life if I'd like £1,000,000 and I'm hardly going to tell you where to go.

Not to mention there is a severe danger of Rangers not winning the league due to the fixture congestion, injuries, suspensions and the inevitable deflation this will cause.

Congratulations to Zenit and commiserations to Rangers. A remarkable achievement getting to the Final despite not having a huge budget and (I mean no disrespect when I say this) a comparatively limited team.

To be honest I'd rather be in the final and lose than not to be there....

Don't forget the run benefits the whole of Scottish football not just rangers.

And if your auntie had baws he would be your uncle. Zenit arent at the end of their season, if Rangers got past teams like Partick Thistle without needing replays, or without requesting games against Gretna to be postponed, or their own pitch flooding, its no fiasco.

Reality check? If Rangers cant get past partick (who could have quite easily nicked it), and by your rational that having days off is an advantage (queens havent played in over a month by the time of the final), with the fixtures Rangers have there is no doubt Queens have a very good chance of beating Rangers.

It would be great if they did.

No, its called anti football, the object of football is to score goals, not to stop other teams scoring goals and hope for a win on penalties.

unfortunatley the tv screen broke down at 30 mins and there has been fights between fans and police, i hope to fck that thsoe picks get hammered, im peed at the result but im even more peed at some of the asses we have as fans

Granted Broadfoot is no Hutton going forward but he was certainly better than Papac! For a left sided player i'd hate to see what Papac's right foot is like.

I saw broadfoot making so many last ditch interceptions/blocks like he was doing the defending all by himself. Kept one of their dangermen mostly quiet as well. Covered so much ground and managed to help support up the field as well.

Yep Walter should have changed things earlier. 1st half woeful barely managed 1 attack on their goal. For me Darceville was poor as well falling down most of the time as soon as the ball came to him. Novo and Boyd should have been on from the off (fitness permitting) 2nd half gers were much better but to be honest the better team won.
