I've been the victim of ***** crime, a couple of times. I've never been mugged in Brixton (where I have been very often), or by a black man. I suspect you don't really know anything about Brixton or gypsies to be honest.

In my opinion most ****** are nothing more than organised crime units that travel from town to town ripping people off and leaving all their **** behind. I really don't know why we put up with it, the problem is most people (including police and councils) are scared of them. I have met a lot of ****** in my time purely because they love the south east as there are a lot of things to steal.

Then how do you explain the fact that wherever the tax-dodging, thieving miscreants pitch their 'camp', crimes sky rocket? Guess the two dirty ***** ***** I caught robbing our house at 4am were just there by mistake, and were in fact bagging up what they thought was their electrical equipment rather than intentionally nicking ours.

Have you got any stats to back that up or are you just going by stereotypes? The thread title in itself is bordering on breaking UK law.

I can't believe you're actually ignorant enough to call black people 'negros'.

In case it is beyond the comprehension of some closed minded people on here - inciting racial hatred is a crime in the UK and 'irish travelers' whether you like it or not are classified as a racial group.

I don't have any stats to hand but like you, I'm basing my opinion on personal experience.

I cannot believe your ignorance leads you to believe that the word "negro" is offensive. Why is referring to a negro as a negro wrong? I didn't call them *******. Negro / Negroid are the factually correct terms and never were taboo - until socialist "wiggers" began to become offended for their negro "bruthas".

Put down your copy of The Guardian and open your eyes.

I'm half playing devils advocate here tbh.. I'm not naive enough to think there aren't any problems associated with traveling communities I just can't believe you guys aren't dealing with some of the posts on here.

Just to re-iterate:

irish travelers = racial group
inciting racial hatred = pretty serious criminal offense

Given that a swear word can earn someone a temp ban and I'm guessing warez/porn etc.. would be cracked down on too I'm fairly surprised that no one has realised the implications of some of the posts on here.

FWIW yes 'Negro' is generally considered to be derogatory these days - I'd wager you wouldn't use the term in front of a random black person in the work place nor say a 6ft bouncer in a club you'd want to get into.

I don't think anyone is singling out any one type of "tinks" here dowie, just travellers in general.

There's two sites near us that regularly have travellers and they were always left like a tip once they left. Thankfully at one site someone took a tractor and plough to it to stop them from setting up camp on it and they haven't been back since.

I'm not saying I agree that they are in reality. I doubt they are any different in their ancestry to any other British or Irish people but technically, under UK law, they are viewed as a racial group.

The point I'm trying to make is that we all know there are problems associated with traveling communities just as we all know there are problems associated with say inner city black communities. The fact is when some posters are going so far as to label the whole group 'scum', call them a 'subspecies' or talk about petrol bombing then it is a bit worrying. That sort of stuff could very easily get any forum into a fair bit of trouble.
 
Tis slightly odd how they come up with these categories but they exist non the less.

for example Jews and Sikhs are protected - Muslims and Christians aren't.

Referring to Jews as a 'subspecies' was pretty common in Germany not too long ago and we all know how that turned out.... yet one poster in this thread was dumb/naive enough to refer to travelers as a 'subspecies'.
 
Too late to write a rant about this tonight, I'll come back with some rantings of todays travels once I've had some kip!
 
This isn't a post about how i'm annoyed at them, more my shock at how some people live so differently. When I worked for a car rental firm last summer, we were contracted by an insurance company to provide a car for someone who'd damaged their car. Turned up with the car (for his wife) and couldn't believe what I saw.

2 Irish people in a 4 person caravan (quite small) parked in "their brothers drive" (a brick caravan) in a caravan park. The cars on the drive were a newish XC90 and a BRAND NEW Range Rover sport with no number plates and the covers on the leather still! When I asked for the deposit he pulled out the biggest wad of £50's ever and flicked one off.

Gave the guy the form to fill in and watched him look at it for a while, took me ages to work out he couldn't read the thing! He didn't trust me whatsoever.

When we went back to collect it a week later, there were lots of people around. They were all muttering about us and I noticed that there were people covering the exits who swiftly moved when we gave the deposit back and deemed the car fine.

And this is in Cambridge of all places!

On the plus side, there's a good railway crossing near there where you can recreate the final scene from the fast and the furious on the way back :D
 
We used to get gypsies setting up camp in the field behind our house all the time.

We came home once to find our garden gate had been smashed and most of the things in our garden knicked!

My dad confronted them when we saw all our stuff lying in the field around the caravans and they just spouted a load of ******** about how it was already there :rolleyes:

Police were called and they were moved on. They very kindly though left all of their rubbish behind which the council had to clear up with a digger. The pile of crap they left ended up being about 12ft high.

Council came in around 6 months later and built 4ft high mounds around all the known travellers favourite sites to stop them getting in again :cool:

Not had a problem since.

I did however find my favourite action man tank that I used to ride up and down the garden on as a kid in a ditch out in the field about 6 years later though :(
