No, he just took it as the wrong context. He thought I was saying "people are agreeing with the original poster" which sounds wrong because the original poster was myself, thus I should have said something like "people are agreeing with me".

But actually I meant "people are agreeing with the original post".

Basically he was nitpicking.

I still stand by the fact he was highlighting you were pointing out the posters who agreed with you and you only...

But now Im nit picking....

Or is it you who is nit picking?

Well obviously that is what I was doing. Why is it worth highlighting?

I was trying to show that it wasn't just my opinion, and other people in the thread agreed.

Of course others don't, but that's not the point.

The hihghlight of student stupidity for me was outside the Union one day when there were a gang of people with signs and petitions calling for a ban of all Nestle products in the Union.

I asked one of protestors... "Why?"

Her: "because Nestle are an evil, profit hungry, company that promote third world poverty by employing children".

Me: "Are you real?

Next day, it was all forgotten about and some other random demonstration was on.

And he chose not to answer the real content of my post...

Edit:

Oh. And would you be kind enough as to reply to my real statement?

And tbh yes some students are loud, messy.. e.t.c....

But so are many supposedly mature 9-5 adults who go out on a **** up on Friday and Saturday night.. They are rude, violent, intimidating, loud, obnoxious.. The list goes on.

FAR FAR FAR Worse than students..

You are probably one of them.

The same thing happened at my 6th form, and actually spanned the whole school... So what you are saying is that eveyone in education above year 6 is a *******??

The arguments at GSCE and 6th form level were even worse constructed than the ones you mentioned, yet I dont see a "all year 10 students are nothing but stupid idiots" thread?

So political students are stupid yet we have a clown running London?

Oh, those ignorant students and their protesting against Nestle, whatever will they do next.

Wait a minute! Have a look at this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestle

Turns out they are a pretty unethical company and their products are boycotted by a hefty amount of people. Guess they were 'real' (I assume that means 'for real'). Glad this hihghlight [sic] was enjoyable for you.

tbh i don't really care what nestle do, i like the chocolate.

All the fair trade balls as well, and no regular version which is about half the price.

I think the thing is that most people know Nestle are unethical, yet only student types are the ones who actually do anything about it. A group of passionate students will protest whereas a group of middle age people will just go "ah, sod em" and carry on with there dead end jobs.

Fox, as I've said you can jump to any assumptions about me you like, but this thread was meant as a way to find the general opinion, thus making it about me is missing the point. I may currently be working towards a degree whilst I work part time, and I may not. I may be unemployed and have never attended a university. I may have a degree (or even more than one) and of course I may not.

The point is it doesn't make any difference, the thread was supposed to be about the stereotype. But people are clearly failing to see this.

Of course this post will be deconstructed and flamed just like the others, but I guess there's not anything I can do about that. So on that note this will be my last post in this thread as I feel it has ran it's course and is now just going around in circles whilst slowly descending into petty bickering.

Don't be such a turd. If we were to ban all things unethical you would be living in a cave eating eating bugs. When was the last time you donated all your expendable money to a good cause and went without eating properly so people in poor countries could get a decent meal? Take off your keyboard warrior jacket and sit down.

nost students don;t give a flying **** but the ones who do are the ones on tthe council so we get lumbered with thier crap.

One of the wort things was there was a big debate about whether we should accept an olive tree from some Palestinian university, even though t the bunch of retards had "twined" us with it.

Oh the university in question has had 12 suicide bombers come from it, and holds a martyrs week every year in which they celebrate the suicide bombers...

Tbh i'd rather be twined with a good European or American uni, look much better and may be of some benefit.

Wow. Ignorance is bliss, eh?! Must be nice to go through life totally self-absorbed and carefree. Until it has an effect on you it's probably best to ignore it, right?

I'm not middle age and I certainly don't have a dead end job but I don't give a toot what Nestle do. IMO, up the study requirements so students have less time to waste on BS they wont give a damn about 2 days later.
