Any reason to avoid this? going to look at/possibly buy on Saturday

No you made a comment about my car being comparable to a shopping trolley or something yet I pointed out you drive a 50BHP 106. That's all dear :p

you get a star for knowing mine is a shopping trolley, not as if I've ever proclamied it to be something else!

How much can you get for the Saab?

Once the bumper is sprayed (going in on the 27th) and a few things are sorted, like new wipers, a proper tax disc holder - about £1800. It's in good condition and has alloys unlike a lot of others so it shouldn't be hard to get that money :)

Cheap upgrade then whats the insurance like?

I can get insured on one of these for about 1200 last time I checked IIRC and I'm a bit younger than you, I do have 2 years NCB though.

I have a bad history dude. Insurance will be £2k.

EDIT: So £300 more than the Saab, so overall about £1k to upgrade to a much better car. Fine by me :)

Tom just asked me the exact same thing lol. My instructor had a 2005 Fiesta...the gearbox was crap, the engine was pants, in general just a horrible car.

A car driven by learners in "dodgy gearbox" shocker.

The gearbox had been replaced recently :p

Plus it wouldn't be the only Ford I've driven with a carp gearbox.

They use the IB5 gearbox it's the one which has been used since time began and is supposed to be pretty much bombproof. What kind of issues were there?

Gear stick randomly popping to neutral whilst driving (did it with everyone, not just me). Would have to wrestle it into reverse, and out of reverse.

It was just...horrible...only way to describe it.

It was a Fiesta. Thats like me going out in a 316Ti Compact and deciding that no, I will never own an M5 as a result.

A friend of mine, his Dad gets him a new car from Ford's every 6 months (due to his job he gets lots of new cars) and so far every single one of them has had to be returned with problems...

Whereas the MG ZS is a parragon of reliability
