Reassuring to hear :). Hopefully we don't get Barry now.

Some more quotes:

“At the moment I feel I could stay here for many years. I have been here for four seasons already; why not seven or eight? As long as I am performing well and the club wants me to stay then I will.”

“There is no problem between me and the manager and I would like to clarify that. I have read that we have had an argument but our relationship is the same as it has been since I joined Liverpool. I spoke to the manager only the other day. He has never said that he wants me to leave.”

I know a few people said earlier on in the thread that a few teams will have wholesale changes, mentioning Barca as one of them. Well it looks like they've made a signing already:

Rodrigo Palacio.

This means Eto'o definitely on his way out? Seems that way.

Edit- Hmm... apparently he's a winger, must be a replacement for Ronaldinho instead.

It's going to be a long summer with these Ronaldo rumours. :( We've proved that we're the dominant team in Europe this year while Real and Barca have looked a shadow of their recent sides- I don't see why Ronaldo would want to leave just yet.

ROFL at that.

Has that muppet sacked Sven yet?
Amazing how City have one of their best years for a while then some guy decides to ruin them, I love it :D

- I don't see why Ronaldo would want to leave just yet.

A completely different life style and one he probably prefers. More money even more hero worship and a massive tweak to his greasy ego.

Perhaps he just likes a new challenge, after all winning a couple of title and the champions league and he's done it all in england. Perhaps he doesn't want to see himself as a giggs character where 10 titles at united doesn't hold the lure of multi titles in different leagues.

Personally I hope he goes, I'd love to see him playing in the spanish league to see how he does. I think he would soon see the mistake of going to an unstable club from one of the most stable in the world.

Why on earth would Wenger be interested in Thuram, if im not mistaken hes a left or right back and we have 2 of the best in the league already. Silly rumour.

If he goes, he goes. It will be a shame alright but we've lost good players in the past and come out the other side alright

Exactly - and the club wont be as reliant on one person for the majority of goals

Either way he should go for £50-60m at least (his marketing rights must be worth £10m+ over the four years he has left on his contract)

Thuram has been playing centre back for the past few seasons now because he is old and past it.

Still, it shows the level of ambition that Wenger has now if players who are on the verge of retirement are his main transfer targets.

As much as I think Ronaldo is an awesome footballer it seems inevitable that he will leave soon.

He just doesn't seem to have that same passion or loyalty as a lot of the other United players. Take Rooney & Tevez for example, I can't Imagine either of them ever wanting to leave. They just seem to love the club, the fans and winning trophies as a team.

Ive not got anything against Ronaldo, didn't think he was that out of order at the world cup either because thats just how competitive football is now.

I cant help but think that Ronaldo has enjoyed his brilliant season a lot more than he enjoyed Man Utd winning the title.

I really can't see the appeal of Real Madrid, maybe a few years ago I could but certainly not now. If I were a top player with the choice of any club in the world then I'd seriously be struggling to pick one. The only one being AC Milan (if they manage to qualify for champions league). Barca are a great club but just too unstable, Inter I just can't stand them, like the Chelsea of Serie A.

But Im not a top player, so what do I know :p

Yeah i dont quite get why people would want to move from the likes of Man United to top teams of italy or spain unless its purely lifestyle. In my eyes i can't see it being for better football or for a better team. Its not like ronaldo will have more success in spain, look at what hes achieving with utd now.

Hes a great footballer but my word do i hate him

The thing is even though we have some debt at the club, it's still being managed and it's relative to the turnover. That said his marketing brings in good money so both from a business perspective and a footballing perspective we don't have to sell him at all. I'm sure United are also mindful that Beckhams stock rose when he moves to Madrid and they missed out on some that. Will they want to make the same mistake twice.

The flip side is that Ferguson will not tollerate a dressing room with players who don't want to be at the club. If Ronaldo does make it clear he want's to go now rather than in a few years then Fergie will want to ship him out asap. The £60-£70m being quoted would mean the money available to buy the likes of a Benzema and another couple of quality midfielders.

Whatever happens United are in the driving seat. If he stays we win, if he goes we win.
