Anyone seen the new updates over at Ebay?

Basically sellers can no longer give bad feedback to a buyer (not sure how good this will turn out). Could be a lot of scams about to happen :(

Also, any negatives recieved which are over 12 months old are not counted in your feedback score. This is personally good for me since I have 3 silly negatives from when I first joined years ago, but now I'm on 100% :)

Daft, I have been a member of ebay since 2002, haver over 350+ feedback its all been positive.

Ebay are just trying to get more customers by shafting sellers.

I've had some extra feedback show up over night. Was at 207 last night, now it's at 222. Are they back dating the "wipe out" of retalitory negs?

I'd also like to see a system where further feedbacks can be issued. I think the point of the old one (at least) is to rate the transaction experience, but a further system where feedback can be issued for e.g. customer service if something breaks would be pretty helpful.

I've had terrible experiences on ebay with items breaking well before their warrenty deadline is up but there's no way of providing others of such information.

Though I can see it being open to abuse lol so perhaps not..

Excellent, this should get rid of the feedback blackmail that was rife with unscrupulous sellers. The change needed to be made imo.

What they need to add is a system of making the sellers give feedback before the buyers. Once you've paid your feedback should be recieved as you've completed your side of the deal.

Not true, as the sellers side isnt completed until the buyer has received the item etc.

The new ratings system is daft and makes no sence how they work it out.

I was on something like 750 last night with 100% now im at 1103 with 99.7% because i had one nutrual a few months ago from a stupid buyer how was stupidly thick and didnt read what they were buying.

Reading ebays pages only Positive and Negative affect your score.

So
Positive +1
Negative -1
Nutural 0

So how come on the % score nutural deducts from the score.

eBay keep changing loads oth things this year that they are messing too much with the site.

One of the new things they are going to do is - if you dont offer paypal you can sell (more like if you dont offer paypal we can make a few extra ££ off you so dont sell).

It wasn't perfect. I don't think the 12 month thing is any good. as for sellers leaving negative. I can see the idea behind it. A buyer leaves negative and you will always get negative back. But this doesn't solve that entirely as a buyer could be a scammer as well.

So overall I don't think it's a good move.

I do actually think there trying to tackle scammers. But aren't doing the right things.

I've just realised, I've been a member of eBay for 7 years.

Well actually, HAD been a member for 7 years. I closed my account a couple of weeks back, and I save so much time not browsing for things I don't need!

I have just under 2000 100% bits of feedback as a seller. Now that eBay has implemented this one sided feed back system, it is time to say goodbye to them. It has been good, but not anymore.

All sellers are openly open to "negative feedback" blackmail.

Allows buyers to rate sellers honestly without fear of retaliatory feedback
Which is a huge problem. However I don't think this is the right coarse of action.

What I want to know is when will google make a rival to ebay. Which is cheaper and more secure.
