Gate to Hell (on Earth)!

Thats amazing, and yeah, surely they can somehow stop the fire and get all the gas = money and jobs for uzbekistan people.

That is not the same place. I remember reading somewhere it's 2 different location photoshopped into 1. The day time photo showed there's water down the hole and railings surrounded the hole to stop people from falling down. The "gate to hell" however does not have railings and it has only soils and flame down the hole
 
Technically speaking it was a spelling error, not a grammar error, so being a grammar nazi doesn't come into it :)
 
Complete guess here but I'd say due to the slow burning type of fire that it is, gas isn't being released at a huge rate and as such this isn't that much of a problem or the place doesn't have as much potential for piping gas as it seems.

I'd guess if they piped it properly it would drain 100x faster than that fire is draining it, but then I know very little about the science behind it.

Very cool though..
