I dont think united did too bad out of Becks leaving, he was getting ever slower, and you had a young kid waiting in the wings called Ronaldo

The trouble would be recovering the number of goals ronaldo has scored in the last two years for united. Replacing a winger wouldn't be too hard. Recovering those goals would be a major re-shuffle/style of the team. The current strikers can't score those goals added together.

Loki has hit the nail on the head, it leaves a bit of anxiety around the fans before such an important game. I also agree with Ripper, he will sign a long term deal in the summer and Fergie will make sure he gives his best years to United, on a side note I hope Patrice gets his contract sorted out soon too.

I went through this with my mate, Ronaldo scored the only goals in roughly 11 games this season and there are numerous games where ronaldo was the first scorer as well. Losing Ronaldo would be a huge blow to united i think.

Thats true but if the press and pundits are to be believed we are supposed to be looking at a pretty decent forward to add to the squad. Something will have to be sacrificed to accomodate the new player. The burden has to come off Ronaldo for that goal haul. Plus can we really rely on Ronaldo to score above 20 goals in a season ? I'm not so sure

I reckon Ronaldo will score another 20 goals comfortably next year. Not 40 again obviously, but 20 easily. Rooney and a new signing should make up the rest.

Ronaldo is a great atlhete and a great football talent,but he is a chav - portuguese style

he cames from a poor family,with no good educational background ,and the fame and money he has now,is going to make him lost his head doing silly thinghs( like other famous players in the past, like Maradona etc.)

he is too vain,and he wants to show off to his spanish girlfriend, right now this is the most important for him

I was going to slate your english but you're portugese so forgiven.
Ronaldo doesnt really need to impress girlfriends, he can easily get decent new ones, he was the one going behind gemma atkinson's back, which shows what he can get away with.

He is very vein yes, but its forgivable if he does move due to him not settling that great in mancurian life - living in spain or living in manchester? For a portugese lad its a no-brainer.
Moving to spain or anywhere would not be silly, he can choose which club to go to, dictate pay etc.. He cant really be compared to maradona and the likes as he has proven his dedication for the game for years. Hes hardly going boozing and getting fat etc is he

All i can say if Real can lure Figo from Barca then they can get any1. Its all about Dosh and i do not think that ronaldo has forgoten about how he was treated after the world cup. He will go i think and then get injured.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the world cup was quite a while ago, I think hes probably forgotten it due to the fact hes got everybodys noses up his bum.
Hes also silenced his critics in practically every way shape and form.

How was that then? I was at the first league game of the season against Fulham after the world cup and he got an extra cheer everytime he touched the ball, and when he scored.

Also, it was shown in the Ronaldo documentry on ITV that Fergie got in touch with him and sorted it all out. He was treated fine by United.

I'd imagine for a portugese player its a massive thing playing for one of the biggest clubs in spain plus i dont think its a good omen that hes just acquired himself a spanish gf.

Its not everyday a club like real come after you

watch Barca Man Utd 2nd round in the CL. never has this been so apparent. Compare the yardage and closing down from Tevez vs Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is a small team bully and tormenter. he loves to rip apart rubbish defenders, and wins us many of the games vs lower clubs because he can do this and do it well. Put him up against a wold class fullback, and he quickly starts to get frustrated when things are not going his way. Fortunately the number of poor defenders far exceeds that of world class ones.

So Ronaldo gets us a lot of points by pillaging these small teams, but for 70mill+ id have to say sell him. I dont know who we could buy to replace that contribution and directness.

i'd be surprised if ronaldo leaves this season. only yesterday and the day before that he was talking about what he'll be doing in the team next season. to be honest i'd be sick of the same questions being asked over and over again at interviews! i'd rather not give any interviews at all, like scholes

Never heard of him before this as far as I know but thats a promising compilation, and if he is infact a concistent player for them thats also quite reassuring if we did go for him.
Which side does he play on?
