Is it really that good? I've been sticking to the surf hair style products. How do you use the VO5 Matt Clay?

With the surf hair paste, you just rub it through your hair and your basically done.

my hair is fairly thick, bit to long atm, but a bit too much on for a first go but it's not bad, trying to work out the best way to apply.

it's come out fairly nice though.normally my hair is hard to work with.

I think the vo5 texturising gum is meant to be, but it kinda smells of banana :S

Depends on the days style and what I'm doing but on a day-to-day basis I use Label.M matt paste from toni and guy.

Probably best to visit a good hairdresser and get it cut and ask them to make a recommendation. My cousin is a manager of a top salon and used to do my hair before I moved to Edinburgh.

He recommended using Sebastian Xtah clay. It's darn expensive at 18ish quid a pop, but it is far better than the GHD I was using before. On the plus side, the tub he gave me was for a nice discount and is still going a year and a half later.
It's definitely less is more - if you put on too much it looks awful.

I have very fine hair though so it won't suit everyone.
