Haze is 576P?!

As I've said before neither console has the power to run these games properly at 720/1080 and maintain a decent framerate or game size.

Roll on the next gen ;)

I think I'm not the only one who has fell asleep during a Haze trailer.

Can't really think of a reason other than bad programming for the PS3, maybe lack of funds?

Other games, like Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 on Xbox 360, have used lower resolutions to improve overall visual effects. It should be up to every gamer to decide, with their own eyes, whether or not the lowered resolution has created a diminished visual experience for Haze.

that's the bit I like, And the bit I'll go with. COD4 is beautiful.

No offence mate but who cares honestly ?, do you think the main demographic is gonna tell the difference from 576p and 720p, no, and not only that some of the most successful games have been of a similar resolution, COD4, Halo3 etc, but what makes me laugh inside the most is the following, the demo is released, everyone plays, nobody knows what resolution it is, think about it, nobody knows, I'll say it one more time, nobody knows it's running at 576p, right, now then, someone then confirms it's running at 576p and everyone is like "OMFG!!!11111oNe1!!!, how is this possible whaaaaa whaaaaa " yet before that same person who is crying didn't even know this,

Now tell me what would happen if right now someone confirmed it was 720p, everyone would be happy, you see what I'm saying, not only do the main demographic not care about resolutions but even the geek brigades don't even know what resolution it's running at so they all sit around waiting for an uber geek to confirm what resolution the game is being rendered at so they can decide if the game is any good or not lol, how can you let that number dictate for enjoyment of the game when you didn't know in the first place, these 'next gen' res arguments are so ******* silly ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I don't really care the game sucks. It interests me however that they have had to lower the resolution while keeping 30FPS and rather crap visuals.

You guys know that this is the demo resolution?????
The final game has been confirmed to be 720p

(First few paragraphs)

It doesn't say native but why would devs say 720p scaled because all game can be upscaled.
It was also a reply to everyone commenting on the demo resolution, so it must be more.

What do you think??

Did you even read what I posted?

Free Radical's Derek Littlewood confirmed to Ripten that the final game also runs in a lower resolution.

Edit: Sorry I see now. When i read it i missed it.
Conflict in sources though.

Take a chill pill and get a bag of fullstops while your at it.

What is exactly wrong with what I'm writing? (I'm allowed "?" instead of fullstops aren't i?)
I'm not having a go at anyone.

Don't blame the messenger.:( (even though i have realized i am wrong) :p

I don't think the visuals are that bad, end of the day I'd much have have them lower the res and have the game running at a rock solid 30 than see the game slow down, I notice low fps much more than a lower resolution, now even though I didn't think the demo was that great I'm gonna call it and say that I think this game is gonna be a sleeper hit, the first official reviews look promising,

also Official PlayStation Magazine has given Haze 9/10.

Pretty weird stuff!

Where did you get 30FPS from btw? The game seemed really smooth to me.

Haze has been a pretty massive failboat :( The original trailer had everyone hyped, but then it got delayed, and then screens came out showing.. hazey.. graphics and then the demo gives (IMO) average gameplay.

I played the Haze demo, I wrote what I thought about it in that thread, I will say however that I think it will be one of those games where the demo really doesn't do the full game justice. I'm not trying to defend it because quite frankly the demo didn't impress me one bit, but I think the retail game could, story sounds interesting and it has a bunch of different settings, we'll see.

As for it running at 576p, who cares? Halo 3, CoD4, GTA4 (on PS3) all run at sub-standard resolutions and look bloody gorgeous.

Also, I have deleted the demo now so can't fire it up to check, but it felt to me that it was running at 60fps not 30fps, but I can't be sure.

I've already agreed with you on the first point in IRC so i won't bother explaining why i agree, but yes, i reckon the final game will be better than the demo too.

I'm fairly sure the demo runs at 30fps, but feels smoother than games like GT5:P that run at 60 because its a SOLID 30fps, never dips at all so you don't notice any slowdown at all. I bet that GT5:P only ever falls to 40fps in the busiest of situations which is still higher than hazes 30, but that's still a 33% drop which is what the eye notices.

I didn't mind the demo and I thought it was pretty decent graphically? :(

As previously stated, COD4 was also 'below hd' yet is still rated as one of the best looking games so far. I thought it looked just fine, not the best, but since when should that matter? I remember the days when games like FFVII, which were below par in terms of graphics, were still highly reguarded despite that. These days it seems if a game has too much aliasing its automatically rubbish.
