IGN has reviewed Haze - 4.5 out of 10

You're crazy to sell it in my opinion - even if you feel it's on the poor side of gaming, it's still a blu-ray player with a library that's fast on the up.

When Famitsu rates a game high, they do it out of respect for the readers — avid players of Kingdom Hearts as most of them are. Avid players of Kingdom Hearts don't want to be told what Famitsu really thinks of their w00pty piece of w00p hobby. So Famitsu awards the "courtesy score" — which used to be all nines and a ten, and is now all tens and a nine. When Famitsu KNOWS a game is going to sell 2 million copies in a week regardless of what they say, this is what they do.

I can't actually link to who has written this as it contains swearing but google Famitsu, go to the 3rd link and follow the Kotaku link.

I should add that there are strong rumours they may receive some cash and that may alter the score.

But when it comes to FPS's you really shouldn't take any Japanese score to be the true thing.

So 3 in; 45, 58 and 65. Mid table mediocrity.

Everything about this game reminds me of Timeshift; delayed development; a generic bland sci-fi shooter that will be forgotten before it's out. The only thing giving this the attention is it's PS3 exclusivity (if it was a 360 generic shooter exclusive I don't think it would have had any ~ which is way they may have gone this way).

Though as many will tell you; just because something scores badly doesn't mean people won't personally find some enjoyment out of it.... Some people did enjoy Timeshift (or Jericho (another 5/10 game) which I played) for example.

Neither of them are as bad as the Daikatana situation, Daikatana was hyped to hell and back and most people fell for it. Then it sucked.

Haze was hyped to hell and back but nowhere near as many people fell for it. Then it was average.

Duke Nukem Forever hasn't actually been hyped up by 3D Realms in ages, they've just stuck by the 'when it's done' tactic and everyone else has done the hyping. Time will tell.

haha, another PS3 exclusive is terrible, surprise surprise, have they had any that have been good as half of the 360 exclussives? (i know, chances are i'm going to have to eat my words when MGS 4 arrives (not that i think thats a brilliant game either (but i can understand why people have liked the series in the past))).

UNCHARTED arguably stands up well against any game on the 360. My favourite single player game of last year and I am not a fan boy I own a high end PC, 360 and PS3. I love my PS3 and do prefer the whole package of the machine to my 360 but the serious lack of quality titles is perterbing especially when you can see what can be done on the platform with a game like uncharted.

Cheers,
Hugest

O dear, but I did cancel my pre-order after the shockingly bad demo. Only got MGS4 and BF: Bad Company on my list now.
