At a guess, from your European games? Where your manager has been too scared to play real football against the likes of Barca and Roma, and has stuck to fairly defensive and stifling formations in both legs.

I actually think Chelsea have started to play some nice football recently. Admittedly I've not seen many of their games (no reason to), but against Newcastle they did seem to play it about a bit. Ballack is a much more technical player than Lampard, so I think his presence in the middle of the pitch ahs helped them in that respect.

Real football? Maybe the other teams should play "real" football, then they may get to the final.

Since when?
Your FA Cup side was as near as 'full 1st XI' as it gets and you could say Man.U. are yet to beat a full 1st XI Chelsea side.

(the hint was "this season")

Tevez, Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson could all start or be on the bench and none of them played in the FA Cup last season

We beat your first team at OT in AG's first game (or certainly a lot nearer to your first team than the one you beat of ours at SB a couple of weeks ago) :D

That's because they weren't Man.U. players then.
Your point fails miserably I'm afraid if neither team has put out it's full side :/

And if you're just talking about this season then it's just as bad a point.

I was CLEARLY talking about this season - I stated that before the quote you cleverly edited

Why is it a bad point - all I have said was that you havent won against our first choice team, which is true !!!

(apart from saying it was a MINOR point, and that its too close a game to call) but obviously that all went over your head!

I didn't cleverly edit anything, I just added to my post.
It's a pointless thing to say especially as Man.U. haven't beaten a full strength Chelsea side for at least the last 6 games.

Talk about defensive. Neutral's want to see good football, UTD haven't delivered that in europe this year and imo they rarely do. Ferguson seems to get stage fright and changes it around too much. Going back to '99 he kept it simple and played a 4-4-2 with the front 6 picking themselves when they were fit. Who knows, maybe he has got it spot on and is covering for the lack of balance/quality in certain area's, but it's rarely very pleasing on the eye.

Chelsea were missing Drogba, Ballack and Lampard too possibly? Definately the first two, at OT.

Frank, think before you post! :) You'll give us a bad name.

That's an interesting point.

In '99 we were a lot more cavalier in our approach to games both domestically and in europe. It was the mentallity of you score 2 and we'll score 3 etc. Play to your strengths and let the opposition worry about us rather than us worry about them first and foremost.

Maybe we could play a little more attacking game but to be fair, English teams have been accused of playing a traditional English game and as such have come unstuck. Is it any suprise that the Quater's and the semi's have been dominated by English teams over the past couple of years playing a more cautious european game ?

No, but the point is always made when choosing as a neutral, that Manchester are the more aesthetically appealing and attacking team, then whenever you go to see them in a big game, they play with 11 behind the ball.

You're right we have been shocking scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest

Christ sake, you get battered for playing gung ho and going out in the Quarters and you get battered for playing the more "defensive European game"

Liverpool play "European" football and are touted as the best out of the Premier leage for doing so, we start to do it and are declared ****

Ive said it before and ill say it again make your ****ing minds up

What are you saying then...

Previous to 05 you attacked teams then post 05 you play European football?

lol no. In '05 we went to Chelsea, Juve etc and played for a draw and tried to win at Anfield where as the last 3 years ('06-) we've played Chelsea, Barca etc and went away from home trying to win the leg.
