IGN has reviewed Haze - 4.5 out of 10

Jesus this game is getting slated just about everywhere, I guess thats another PS3 game thats under delivered so I will be giving it a miss.

Just makes you wonder what those delays actually accomplished

I just played the demo again, specifically to check the graphics and A.I. and I have to say the graphics aren't bad but just very bland and simple and don't really stand out, the A.I. is indedd bad at times as I managed to shoot a mate that walked right in front of my firing machinegun.

[edit] ANother review that basically says the same thing: http://kotaku.com/5009840/haze-review-it-sure-beats-pumping-gas [/edit]

Giant Bomb have given it 2 out of 5 - safe to say then it's a poor game.

Playing Haze left me disappointed, for sure, but it also left me extremely curious about its development. Free Radical, the developers of Haze, have done better in the past in almost every single way possible, from weapons, to levels, to bot intelligence. Though it was announced just over two years ago, the end result plays like something that was slapped together and shipped after a year or so, rather than something that was painstakingly developed and refined. While there’s nothing about Haze that’s out-and-out broken or completely terrible, it doesn’t come close to meeting the expectations that today’s first-person shooter market creates.

I saw the advert for it last night, its alwalys a bit worrying when it doesnt show more then a second of actual gamplay.

I had this game on pre-order, waaaay back before the original delays.

Since trying the demo I've cancelled that pre-order. My thoughts were;

The title screen images look like they were ripped from an early 90's streetfighter, and the game relies too heavily on using the nectar (from my experience with the demo, from PSN) than I could handle. I want to use it when I need it, it shouldn't be a necessity dammit!!

I wanted to like this, but I can see why it got a crap review(s) :(

This had such possibilities, I've not played it but it's not sounding good from these reviews

It looked to me like a next gen red Faction but looks more like we got Next Gen Dog Poop. :(

I'll still try it for myself obviously. I don't always trust these reviews.

I don't either.

My copy is shipping as of today.
I'm still looking forward to it.

Nothing original maybe, but I'm looking forward to a good arcade action shootfest :)

Vin.

FFS, wait until it comes out, play the game, and judge for yourself, don't believe everything from those lunatic idiots at IGN, they've rated some games wrong before IMO, C&C3 being one of them 8.5/10 for a game that is by all intensive purposes very average, need i say more

If it was just IGN saying these things about it I'd agree with you, but it's not just IGN.

I personally don't read IGN reviews because for the most part they are biased and unreliable. I do however find Giant Bomb to be as accurate and honest as possible, I'd also like to see what 1up/EGM have to say about it.

Why waste £40 on a game that got bad reviews pretty much everwhere when you can buy a great game for the same price? ;P
