I think this new Vraptor is over rated, ssd's just around the corner (price asside) will murder these purely due to access time and there now acceptable transfer speeds.
The Seagate drive however does appear to have some serious problems, been given very poor % written reviews from customers via number of places elsewhere, much as 60% saying DOA. Well known website reviews have been very good though due to been faster than 320GB Samsung F1, so hopefully it's just a firmware issue Seagate can fix with the next batch.
They should use some of that SSD technology + a normal hard disc to make hybrid drives... use a few GB of SSD like a huge cache and the drive smart fetches commonly used stuff into it for snappier operation.
