Right - I've been playing it since Tuesday night now and it's great - except the noise that playing the drums make.
The sound of the drumsticks hitting the kit pretty much just drowns out everything else and starts to really irritate after a while - which sucks because drums are really fun to play.
Going to get a set of those official drum covers friday morning - I just hope they make a big enough difference.

Mine just came via the cheap place, really early. package is bigger than i thought and not very well protected either, but im happy. Now where is my game!

Your right the band to hit is much tighter than GH but for the same skill level you get far fewer notes to hit. Hitting a run of notes even in medium is much harder. I did the first tier on medium then gave up and went to hard.
I'm not hard GH player but first song I hit 96% on hard on this game.
You dont get the big uplift when you do the equivalent of star power.
I like seeing the stars your at on the screen instead of failing at the end.
Finishing the song is better and a nice added touch.

God yeah I know that the guitar just gives no where near the feeling GH does. Still makes me smile though.
I only got this for the drums and already can feel lots of love for game.
My point really is I dont want to sit at medium with this as it would ruin my limited skills on GH. So far on hard there are no real fast frets pressed just increased difficulty by chords rather than fret changes.
The achievements stack don't they? So why would you sit down on medium?
Because on Medium on GH thats my limit, hard kills the backside off me. Even hard on Rockband isn't testing me like medium on GH (for the guitar sections).
All i'm saying is I have to be carefull I dont get too used to Rockbands pace because GH will be hell afterwards.

I tried out an import copy a while back and this was the one thing that stuck out for me. I already ordered silencing pads, but if it turns out those others are better I will probably pick them up as well.

I can't play GH on anything lower than Expert (occasionally hard) any more as it's just too easy.
I realise Rock Band is a multiplayer game, but if there's no challenge to it... well isn't that half of the fun?

You guys are really going to be dissapointed with the skill level, seriously when you get this try Seven on hard. Its a complete track of just chords. More or less all red/green change to blue yellow. As fast as you can.
I've only played one song so far with anything like a guitar solo. The rest is two fret chords. I suck at GH3 on hard, I can do one track on GH3 on hard, the first one. I'm 90% these on hard.
All I really wanted from GH3 was a slightly easier skill level or a faster speed but 4 frets. On this you just have chords on hard from medium and lots and lots of them.
Love the tracks though and it will grow on me. I seriously would not buy this for a guitar solus though, it would be too dissapointing.

I cannot finish GH2 or GH3 on Hard, I am on the last set of songs on both but cannot beat them. Based on what you're saying Danny I will probably find the same with this game but maybe on Expert.
I dont think so mate I fancy my chances on expert already, seriously. The guitar is dull beyond belief solo.
Even if you screw up the limited areas of solo you get stacks and stacks of fast chords so that in a heartbeat you go from nearly failing to top bar. Even if you only hit 8 or 9 in 10 of the chords in a line your safe.
Granted i'm not 5 star'ing these but neither am i challenged to finish a song.
I cannot stress this enough, if you have ordered for a guitar solus, cancel and rent.
I get really into GH songs but these are just fast chords. I'm bored.
Right I will video this to show how easy it is for a complete nobbler to get through the songs on hard without even trying and still missing stacks of notes.

Never used it I will look, just tried expert, I can finish them on that. Only difference is they chuck 3 chords instead.
Naturally they will get much much harder as you go down the tiers and this game is meant for parties and multi instruments but it's nowhere near a challenge for Creature and Co.
I got this for the drums, the guitar is a bonus. I WILL mess up Green Grass and High Tides though. And it's still not bloody arrived
